I was looking into getting the AWE Touring exhaust for my car. Their fitment chart doesn't include the Nismo, but it fits all other Z's with manual or automatic transmissions.
It should work with the Nismo model, right?

I can confirm fitment. I have AWE Touring on my Nismo.
That's good news! How do you like it? How does it compare? I don't want an exhaust that drones on the highway, but ok with extra growl around town.
Did you notice any power difference? I hope it gives a little boost. However, I was afraid of possibly losing torque due to reduced back pressure. Hopefully it is only gains, and no losses!

Initially in installed it just cat back with stock downpipes and it was very mellow only about %10 louder than stock, no drone, exactly as advertised " touring" I wanted more so I installed the lower catless downpipes and now its perfect. The tone and volume is really load based, so if you are just cruising at low load and throttle its very quiet once you load it up or at WOT it starts to sing nicely. I like it because there's no valves or modes or anything like that, you control the sound level with your right foot. No noticeable power difference either way with or without the downpipes.

On my base model I still get highway drone around 85mph, but nothing at 80 or less. There's a particular RPM range that excites a resonance.

I recommend welding some sacrificial skid plates to the lowest point. The clamps right before the pipes bend up to the tips will scrape in certain bumpy conditions.
