I bought my 2024 Performance Z in November, now with 3500 miles (it was a no-snow winter in Minnesota). I see from my manual that this car has a 3 yr/36,000 mi basic, 5 yr/60,000 mi powertrain warranty. Today I got a letter from "Nissan Security+Plus" telling me that my warranty coverage has expired on my 6 month-old Z. Seems unlikely....

Now, I am generally not a believer in extended warranties since they are mostly frank scams. What about this one? Scam or not? Bear in mind that the factory warranty should be good for another 2.5 years/ and 57,000 miles on the powertrain. Not likely to bite on this "offer", but I am curious.

Not a scam. Let's just call it aggressive marketing.

Yeah, doesn't feel like the usual lame scams I get every day. Even so, I can't help being impressed by their assertion that the normal vehicle warranty on this 6 month-old car has expired. Either an egregious mistake, or just plain scummy.

Heck yeah a MN owner. Hope to see you on the road
I'm aware that there have been several Z's sold in the state, but not around here ( Brainerd Lakes area). I've yet to see one on the road other than my own. I bought mine in St. Cloud in November and that 2024 was the first Z they had sold.

It was a weird winter in Minnesota. For the first time EVER, I was able to drive my Z all winter. Normally, it goes in the storage garage in November and doesn't come out until March.
