Does anyone know anything about the "Nissan Scratch Shield" it's used on the Z does this really work? Scratches heal themselves? Has anyone had this on a previous Nissan? What are the "Approved Refinish Materials"? The only thing I can find online is this... https://www.nissan-global.com/EN/LICENSE/PRODUCT/PROD009.html

From what I've heard about "self healing" paint in general, it's not very effective. Basically, it's the clear coat that is "self healing" and no, it doesn't repaint itself, it basically is better at hiding light surface scratches that usually are ugly on normal paint, but can be buffed out on normal paint, self healing is less likely to show those minor surface scratches.

When the paint is scratched to the primer, or rock chips, it's going to be the same as a normal paint job.
