Hey guys - I’m in need of some help. I recently had my Nismo tuned after installing DP, exhaust, intakes, and flex fuel kit. The car is excellent when I’m in Standard and Sport drive modes, but pretty much immediately goes into Limp Mode when I put the car into Sport+.
My tuner is saying that there is nothing in the tune that would do this, but there could be a Ecutek bug that is causing this. They have tried to reflash once, but the issue is still there. Any ideas?

The codes that I am seeing are P0606 and C1130

Found the snip below on re the P0606 (Subaru WRX), but not sure if that's your specific issue.
The C1130 seems like an odd code to pop after a tune (engine speed signal). Would the tuner have disconnected (and not reconnected) something related to the ABS?

So, recently I installed my Noble single exit exhaust, was super happy about it, but at the third pull while doing testing, the car entered limp mode and the only error code thrown was P0606.

After erasing the codes and re-flashing again, same error. The repro rate was 100% and I was super upset. The map was new, so I reverted to my previous map (map as in tune file). Same issue again.

Then I noticed that the exhaust, at some specific RPMs was touching the chassis of the car, slightly, but enough to notice the drone. So, it seems that the exhaust generates some static, and since the chassis is the ground for any electrical connection, it was discharging on the ground.

That current was enough for the ECU to raise the flag that something is up and enter into limp mode. It had to be under a pull, right? Anyway, I reseated the exhaust and there is no contact anymore.

The issue is gone.

Some background, the car is tuned by Mikey Botti, it has:

  • ETS Intake
  • ETS J pipe
  • ETS FMIC
  • Noble Titanium single exit Exhaust
  • E50 Tune.
At this point, the turbo is maxed out, it can't keep 22 psi at higher RPM. Hopefully ETS releases the turbo kit soon!

TLDR: Check always the clearance in your parts, make sure there is no contact between exhaust and chassis, check your grounds. The P0606 is just a flag when the current is not what the ECU expects. It doesn't mean your ECU is bad.

Yes, I saw that same post regarding the WRX on Reddit. I showed the shop that installed my mods the post. They checked everything and did not see any contact at all. It is very strange that I am only getting these codes when putting the car into Sport+.

Regarding ABS, I really don’t know. The tuber tuned the car remotely, but all mods were installed and the car was tuned right away. I don’t really know specifically if it was the tune, or something to do with the mods or their installation. I’m leaning toward the tune, but I really do not know.

My next plan of to burn through my current mix of E50, fill the car with pump 93, and flash to the stock tune. Let’s see if this issue remains while on the stock tune….

I dont know much about the tune but SPORT+ actually changes/advances the engine timing so if the tuner didnt account for this maybe that is why the issue only exists in that mode?

with that said there are many NISMOs tuned with no issues

I’m definitely not an expert, but it seems that he P0606 is likely causing the C1130 code.

If you go to 1:00 in this video it explains that C1130 often times has nothing to do with the abs system.
