I love yellow on some cars. The FD was one of them. I'm pretty sure this was the one that I passed on lol.

What was wrong with it?
This was a while back, but the original owner said it had an oil pan leak and some other minor issues like A/C, tires, and alignment. Couldn't drive it very far. It would have had to be towed back to Houston from Dallas, but he was only asking $11k at the time (shooting myself in the foot now).

Even with the issues, it sounds like you passed on a deal of the century.

Yup, but we were trying to buy a house at the time. The SO would have killed me if I had brought another one. 🤣

Taking a closer look maybe it wasn't the same FD. Had a rebuilt title, but I still thought it was a good deal at the time.

1993 Mazda RX-7 w Corvette LS1 Motor (Dallas TX) $11,500

Odometer: 103000
VIN: JM1FD3316P0206308
Manual transmission
Title: salvage

'83 in Formula White w/ Red interior, 5 spd, 80k miles.....my first project car

I moved to Houston in Jan 2005, bought it for a whopping $200 in February 2005 because the previous owner broke a spark plug in it and just gave up - hadn't ran in 2-3 years.......I bought it, got the plug out with some ghetto ingenuity, hand cranked the motor filled with AFT fluid to get the APEX seals lubed up again. Got her to start then found a sick deal on a FD.......

'93 in Crystal White slicktop w/ Tan Leather and Bose 5 spd, 75k miles.

Bought it from an old Vietnamese Doctor that lived in Sugarland (suburb of Houston) back in April 2005 for a whopping $7,500 cash - Owner bought a brand new RX-8 Shinka. Got clipped by a drunk in a Jag on July 4th, 2005 and hit a concrete wall head on doing about 70.....I'm lucky to still be here. Airbags are not soft and smooth like the TV commercials, the smell is horrible.

While I was in the hospital from my near death FD experience, my FB got towed because the registration was from 2002.

Got a '89 Nissan 240SX Fastback w/ 240k on the clock for $600 in August 2005 and I started down the Nissan path from there.

^ The "RX-7" can't ever return ... what might be coming would be the "RX-9", even if it has design cues from the old RX-7.
