OK, so since we have NOT seen ANY tests here stateside and Laguna Seca being one of the premier benchmark tracks, I'm guessing the new Z will be in the 1:43s. Come on it's got to do better than the Civic Type-R. Your guesses and why?

I'm kind of bummed it won't come with adaptive/magneride suspension and better Brembos. Surprise me Nissan!

1:43's sounds right to me. I would like to think it goes faster around than a 13+ year old 987 S and E92 M3, but I have my doubts. Nismo 370Z did it in 1:46.50 at 355ps/1500kg (is this weight right?). Say the New Z weighs ~1600kg, so 400/1600 puts it closest to the M2 Comp if you go up the list which is 410/1614 and it did it in 1:40.83. That's a pretty high expectation so I would tack at least 2-2.50 seconds on, but would be pleasantly surprised if it ended up between say the Evora S and Hellcat Redeye.
