I sent out a request for quote to a local shop on Friday for the inserts and door panels. I'll share it once they follow up.

Got the quote back from a local shop. They are the highest rated around, hundreds of reviews, 4.8 stars.

For the seat inserts and headrests they wanted $1,300 + material.

For the door panels, they wouldn't even give me a quote because they haven't done Z doors before and they're not sure what they're getting into. They said it could be anywhere from 3-5 hours per door, and their labor rate is $150/hr. So worst case, $750 per door.

Looking at $2,800 labor + materials (probably ~$500) + tax. So, like $3,600 all in.

I am no upholstery professional. But, in my amateur opinion, they are out of their goddamn minds, lol. I might as well buy brand new Recaros for a few hundred dollars more. Keep in mind, that's for just the inserts. What would they charge for the full seats, $5,000+???

I'm going to ask around a few more places, see if I can find a more reasonable quote.
