I bought my Z new and after 550 miles I am still finding the tape lines from when they transported the car. I've washed, I've used my nails (something I don't want to do anymore), and rubbed the heck out of them with a towel while drying (something I also don't want to do anymore).

There has to be a better way. What are your suggestions?

Gasolina, or a similar petroleum distillate.

Use minimum pressure and a CLEAN non-marring lint free towel.

Follow up with a thorough flush with water and then isopropyl, then flush again.

Finally, good idea to wash the area with a car wash shampoo, then protective coating.

Same here. I wipe mine down with cerakote after every wash. It takes it off as i find it -but i have to see it to rub it off. I’m sure you could clay bar it off much easier.

the geniuses did the resistall sealant on mine without removing all the tape lines….

I removed mine with an old Nanoskin clay pad, I'm sure any brand would be sufficient, just be sure to use plenty of clay lube or waterless wash/detail spray and a light touch so as not to induce any marring. The pads seem to have gone up significantly in price, but they do have a cheap sponge option that would likely work as well:

Goo Gone Automotive or WD-40, would probably make short work of the stuff as well. The main reason I opted for the clay pad was because I was already giving the car a treatment prior to applying Griot's Ceramic 3-in-1 Spray.

Refer to goo gone, 3M, or any other solvent based adhesive remover's SDS; just petroleum distillates diluted with fragrance and marked up to $140+/gal.

Just as all their instructions say, rinse well and you'll be fine 👍

Yup! I am just, honestly, probably overthinking it too much considering it will get eaten up on the track and road over time. It's only the 2nd car I've bought from new so I've been obsessing. I dont know how true it is, but I read that the 3M stuff is great as long as you dont get it on any plastics

I've never used it on plastics but for paint it works great. Goo gone may be more gentle for plastics. Just do a small test area to make sure it doesn't stain.
