I just watched a video of someone changing the shift knob on a 6MT. They used plastic pry tools starting with the cup holders. Didn't seem too complicated. The plastic tools look like a must so as to not damage the center console.
I have replaced mine. It took me only a few minutes. Maybe 20 minutes from am walking out of my house to walking back in. Start with the cup holder section and move up with a pry tool. Just be sure to unplug everything before you pull it out completely.
Just got my start button in. I’m leaning towards only doing the start button since I have the blue interior but now I’m going back and forth. The red switch seems to stand out more to me (and is also over 2x more expensive). The red start button is more subtle.
Has anyone else with the blue interior installed these? Curious what they look like.
