Back in the day on this site I said I'd pay 100k at most, and I can tell you right now; nothing's changed. I'd not be paying a dollar more.

We all know there's no coupes arriving this year, it just isn't going to happen. We're pretty much 10 weeks out from Xmas. You still bailing in November @West Aussie?

Personally, I'm giving zero fucks when it arrives. Ideally it'd still be 2 years away because I'd be in Perth by then and not need to transport the bastard. But I do hate, like really fucking hate being fed shit. If they told me Feb 27 next year, and it was rock solid, id be sweet. But telling me a half dozen different times leading to that point, well, that's altogether different.
Completely agree on the goal post movement

As to myself bailing….I have been so close so many times. I really like a second hand Merc and a BMW that I saw and almost pulled the trigger. Reason I haven’t is, they are out of warranty and we all know second hand cars are a gamble, especially ones that are expensive to fix.
If we weren’t going through uncertain financial times I’d buy a Z4 tomorrow. The new job is paying pretty well, and with Xmas coming there will be plenty of hours so buying new is a possibility BUT they tell me it’s a 6month wait for a new Z4…so I’m stuck in no woman’s land to be honest.
BRZ and 86 do not do it for me. The Mazda MX5 is too small, the mustang is too big and muscly, the Z4 would be stretching finaces and still a wait

We go on holidays in December. If when I return it still is not on a ship I think I have to reevaluate, I can’t keep driving my sons car

Having said that, it seems I too keep moving the goal posts, say I’m going to jump…but they always manage to lure me back in with a promised delivery date.
It’s just so darn frustrating and for sure a roller coaster ride.

I REALLY regret not buying the purple Elise I saw in mint condition at a very reasonable price, 9 months ago…but too late now ?

We can't think like that. I was eyeing up a low km Honda NSX for Z money back then... If only.

Nah, I reckon we get you hanging around @West Aussie. No need to say December, it's perfectly reasonable to say 'until it happens'.

When you mentioned November I knew you wouldn't call it quits and was always going to give you a gentle ribbing for it.

But, truth to tell, I know your spec and order date better than my own after reading it what seems at least once a month for the last year at this point. I'm actually using it as a pseudo-calendar. Every time I see a post mentioning a yellow coupe order date April '21 I strike off a little dash on my tally ?

So yeah, in a way I've got a vested interest in you continuing just for the sake of me keeping track of the passage of time. Selfish, I know. ?

?

I promise you all though, the factory sub is absolutely useless. I'll tear it apart for a looksee when I've got something new sorted, but I'm pretty sure it's like 4".
This made me think of you.
Someone's attempt at an upgrade ?

Yeah…
except that’s exactly what any dealer trying to keep an order would say. Especially as we know if we take our deposit back the car gets reallocated ….don’t be one of “those” people

that's just for protos.

the rest is just dealers ordering cars. the dealer will keep the order in
and they know they can sell anything they get in.

(that was exact words my dealer told me when I put a test drive clause on my order.)

So yes slow but still run of the mill when it comes to coupes.

now let me get back to my planning for 2024 delivery ;)

Actually that’s not what Nissan Aus said. They said the coupes would also be going in order of lines, and until they arrive could go elsewhere.
Check this page…there have been many conversations about it

Just watched the latest clip from Keep it real, they were doing a tune on the proto and the tech doing it said that the car had a speed limiter for 180km.
Anyone else aware of this.

Nope…but then again I don’t plan on going that fast so it wouldn’t bother me

intesteing.

JDM is 180KM limit

maybe they flashed that tune

rest of world is meant to be 250/255 (depending on if you are kmh/mph) and what they claim

Anybody else wondering if the delay on the manuals is due to the reported '2nd gear grind' issue? Remember when Nissan's engineers were celebrating the 'improvements' made to 1st/2nd gear syncros?

If that's the case, and they are rectifying before they release it- I'm kinda glad. I'd rather the factory do the work, than have the car sit at the dealer for weeks post-delivery to fix it. ?‍♀
Just for reference, I've not noticed any of the 2nd gear grind so far.
I haven't really stepped over 4k revs (maybe nudged 4500 rpm... but you know... don't tell Nissan...) though, so may be different under heavy load.

My wife did comment that it's hard to get it into 2nd from 1st, but her recent manual experience is limited to a 2015 VW Tiguan -everything in that is light.

This made me think of you.

Mother of god... May as well just use an empty Milo tin.

So the 'spare wheel' unit that I'm going to try is the Kenwood.
It's a 10" driver (up from what I think is 4" in the stock Bose form - tbc), and the unit weighs 9kg.
I'm pretty sure the stock unit weighs less than 1kg...

10" is more than enough for my old boomer ears in a car this size, and the weight gives me confidence that it should deliver a pretty clean sound.
Undecided on adding road kill just yet. Probably will... If I can find it below RRP.

Ya'll seeing what AMS is getting out of their proto?
Using the Red Alpha 500 (RA500) kit, they did a 10.68 second pass.
0-60mph in 2.59...!

Think I mentioned it in my last post, but my local tuner (shoutout to AK Racing) has already had mine up on the hoist, and have ordered some parts from AMS for it. Noticed they dropped their intake, which I'm super keen on.

Less keen on exhaust... but again... old man here...quiet is good IMHO. We'll see.
