Just had a thorough look down at the port. If any Zs were unloaded they've been driven directly off and onto the overpass. Sorry I'm not brave enough to launch the drone.Progress Ace left BNE due into PK

just FYI all those media cars that are here currently bar 1 are AUG builds and rego 11th Aug.My dealer reached out to me yesterday about my MT proto allocation.
Nissan Australia have advised that my allocation will have a build date of August 2022 (future tense - made it sound like it hasn't rolled off the production line yet).
No ETA, but even if it rolled out today, it would have to be ~2 months away at earliest.
I'm expecting delivery in 2023 now.
Guess this gives me more time to shop for accessories ?
Not quite sure how that worked - they must have turned them around SUPER quick when they left production...just FYI all those media cars that are here currently bar 1 are AUG builds and rego 11th Aug.
so don’t bet on 2 months.
friends MT proto has a lower VIN build than at least one of the media cars so guessing his car is already in country.
Curious as to how you are getting the build date off that? Is it in the VIN itself?here is one of the extracts compliance plate is installed when built and it has a Aug build
and there was also mention of another proto coming in with a lower build that the one I know of, so yeah
unless they flew them in however they normally get photoed by everyone if they do.
But they don’t have any other cars either…they are all still on back order as wellSo being this is Nissan's new hero car they are not trying to sell more Zs.
They are hoping joe citizen will now come into the dealer to check out the cool car and then they can sell them a run out xtrail.
It's about lead generation more than selling Zs.
My #1 question from the start has been, what is Nissan's target production for the Z? Because that will help determine how long the "burn through" takes in terms of low availability/ADMs. I've had a bad feeling production will be less than desirable from the consumer standpoint. So being this is Nissan's new hero car they are not trying to sell more Zs.

Yes but we don’t have dealer mark ups in Australia. And our allocation would be minute to the US…it would not be a helpful question to ask from our guys and then trying to apply to you.My #1 question from the start has been, what is Nissan's target production for the Z? Nissan planned production will help determine if I'm maybe in the running for a Z next year, or still sitting here two years from now hearing about limited supply and dealer ADM shenanigans.
Right, you guys generally don't need to worry about ADM. But Nissan's overall targeted production numbers impact us all in terms of this vehicle being available sooner rather than later, especially for those not on some early reservation/list. I'd like to know if Nissan is planning the Z more as a hero car as mentioned, or devoting substantial resources to produce a larger number.Yes but we don’t have dealer mark ups in Australia. I would however like to know a firm number on the proto. We have had dealers say anything from 100-200 nobody in Aus seems to know for sure how many we are getting ( not that I ordered one)
But mostly I’d like to know when are early orders being distributed…not just Protos but coupes, and how that roll out will look. For example do we have to wait for our exact model specifications to come in, or will the line be honoured and different variations offered to the first deposit if it doesn’t meet their order.
I don’t really think a media conference will get answers to this. They are there to review the car, not the order process…which is why I kinda feel more media reports are useless because there are hundreds already. Just get the car out .
Sadly I don’t think ( I could be wrong) that anyone in the Aussie part of the forum has links to the media to ask about such things, and even if they did I’d doubt Nissan would tell them anyway…unless they were already going to do so
I just looks at it as one further tiny step to getting the car….we are moving at glacial speed but we are moving
Agreed, let's keep ADM, market adjustment or whatever else they decide to call it out of this thread as it's only relevant to one country.Yes but we don’t have dealer mark ups in Australia.
