I can understand dealerships wanting demonstration vehicles but it just hurts because we placed our orders/reservations long before they did. It feels a bit like they're jumping the queue.

Quietly hoping that a few retail Coupes arrive alongside these Proto/demos.
Completly agree on all fronts
What I’m interested in, is the statement I posted clearly states 2022 build has been exhausted…meaning there must be a 2022 build …meaning surely some coupes will be delivered at least by years end ….meaning surely people who ordered on April. 2021 will be looked after

SURELY 🤣

Whilst they haven’t officially halted new orders…they do state

JOIN THE QUEUE

“Join the Queue
Interest globally for the all-new Nissan Z has been overwhelming resulting in Nissan receiving enough reservations to meet our production capacity for 2022. If you wish to join the queue for any future production availability please complete the form below and your local Nissan Dealer will be in touch. Please note that Z Proto is fully sold out with no more to come.”

Meaning no new orders will be delivered this year …..so still telling people you can order but you ain’t getting one, another reason why demos are a mystery in my opinion

that's been there for some time.

in fact it was there when they took my order, and when processing it it did say a 2023 build, tho looking at the numbers I'm thinking it will end up with a MY24 at least if not a 2024 build..

so def still taking orders, and why would they not.

Tesla have proven how taking orders for imaginary cars can value their company so much more than actually building cars!

Just got my call for a Proto allocation.. Auto though. Probably gonna turn it down, really want the manual. Just goes to show they’re still allocating Proto’s, or maybe this was one that someone else had turned down.

I bit the bullet on the Auto Proto. It’s allocated to me but I’m not locked in, still subject to viewing. I found it interesting that my mate who put a deposit down a month earlier for a Proto hasn’t received a call yet. My guy said 170 Proto’s, this particular dealership got 5 allocations.

My dealer said 170 aswell.

No judgement from me dude. I had the same choice back in June and went with it.

Yeah, I thought about it and to be able to get something this exclusive near the end of the combustion engine era, it would be silly not to. If anything I’ll get the nismo in manual, something to look forward to.

Exactly my thinking man. Get it and if you just can't deal with it, sell it on mate. We won't be going backwards on price. And, as you say, pick up a Nismo in the 6spd down the road.

I personally have come around to the notion and can't really picture myself on-selling currently. Options there though.

This is why we need an official update from Nissan as I (when I still had my Proto on order) and quite a few others were told that we would get half as much as the US allocation which would be 120 and yet you guys are being told 170 by your dealers.

I'm hearing you mate. I was told 170 pretty early in the piece, but then more than a few were saying 120 so figured my dealer (and I'm dealing with a sales manager) had it wrong - which I doubted. But yeah, it'd be nice to know official figures. Hopefully with our embargo lifting in a few weeks all will be made clear. Strange it hasn't been cleared up already. I mean I don't give a shit personally, I'd just like to quoting the correct info from the get go.

If it's taking this long to allocate Protos to pre orders, and there are only 120 to 170 of them, then how long is it going to take Nissan to contact several hundred people that have a coupe pre order
