Interesting with above I also went through Osborne park Nissan 2k deposit 85k quoted price. I’ll be looking closely at the charges before I buy.
Funny…three people go to the same dealer…all three have different estimates.
If it’s 85k for proto then yeah, I could just about say that’s ok …but not for the regular model, we don't even really know what’s in it yet
Sane for deposit, you got away with a 2k deposit, mine was 5. At the time we didn’t know that Aus would be getting a Proto, and I did ask for yellow…I wonder if I’ll get offered a Proto first up?

1k is low risk…no idea why deposits were not structured the same for all

Also how are you guys in NSW, the rain has moved from QLD to you guys.
I hope you are all ok.
I still think it’s wired that we are looking at temps close to 40 again this week, and you guys are under water.
Hope it all settles soon and your not affected

You would of been one of the first three to put a name down so I’d say it’s a strong possibility you could snare a proto Z. But yeah they put 85k on the not finalised contract I could stomach up to 80,000 anything higher than that I’ll need to think about it. 370z nismos drive away are about 72 I think ?

Hi All,
I have deposits with two dealers one asked for $250 and the other wanted 2k but agreed to 1k as I was past customer, the two dealers have offered fully refundable deposits if I am not happy with the final price, the way the car drives or how it may look in the flesh. their discussions with Nissan estimate approx 72k for the 6spd

"Hands Up all the Aussies" ... this is a robbery!
I need all your money so I can buy a new Nissan Z. ;)
Nah.this is Australia…It’s quite normal that our cars cost much more than you guys because of our stupid government taxes etc, plus exchange rate, and the fact in average we get paid far more than you guys( our minimum hourly rate is $20.88)
To give you an idea, I believe the new Lotus a Emira in the US is going to be priced around 72k in Aus it’s going to be 188k before onroad costs.

Can I ask why you would have two deposits in?
Are you going to buy 2, or is it because by having two you have an option to take maybe a different colour if it’s nit on offer at the first dealer?

Cost will be the same no matter where we go thanks to mark ups being illegal in Aus, so that’s not a factor

Whuch state do you hail from?
We have quite a spread going on

sorry for all the questions…
That price sounds great…but do you know when they last spoke to Corporate .
my approx was 80k in April but they thought that was worst case …where as @irishboy77 was 89k and that was after corporate had paid a visit that morning

In terms of refund, all dealers have to offer a refund, because it’s the law, which I am kinda hoping they will think about before releasing a ridiculous price

Well I'm all good fortunately but a lot of others are totally screwed, especially in the north of the state. The last 2 days haven't rained here. I even got a much needed mow in this arvo.

just thought that my chances of getting one was better by approaching two dealers, one large one in Sydney where I got my 370z from and one regional.
Sydney dealer said that they had Nissan execs come through late Feb and at that time there were approx 1300 enquiries for about 800 cars in the first shipment. There are 90 Nissan dealers in Australia so I figure an allocation of about 8-9 cars per dealer, some small regional and country dealers wont have as much interest so more should go to the larger dealers.
If they come in more than 75k driveaway I think I will consider EV options.

Yes I was number two on the list and the first to want a manual…The guy before me supposedly wants black Auto …that’s if he has hung in there
I never specifically asked for a Proto because we didn’t know it was coming, so that’s why I’m not sure if they will offer it to me or not?
Suppose it depends if they have one allocated to them.
I didn’t want to cancel my original order and get pushed further back in the line, but realistically I think given the date they may offer it….whether I take it or not will depend on that price.
if they don’t offer it, or it’s too expensive I have to wait till September which is a tad annoying given how long I’ve been waiting, but I suppose that’s the way the cookie crumbles…as long as Sept Aug is worst case scenario and it’s all locked in I’m happy to wait, it’s really the uncertainty of everything that’s annoying everyone

Makes sense
As mentioned my dealer is only expecting around 6 in the first deliveries, and it’s one of two of the largest dealers in WA, I’m guessing big dealers in NSW, VIC and QLD would get close to double that
it makes you wonder…if there is only 800 in the first drop and nearly every dealer we go too has double digit orders…why are they still taking pre orders?

Sometimes I think about EVs but I just don’t think I’m ready for it, nor do I think the infrastructure in WA is, and incidentally WA is the only state in Australia not offering any incentives at all to go electric, it means the cars are still quite expensive for what they are, and charging on long haul trips is going to be an issue

So it appears that if this timeline is to be true, that the Z has now jumped the Qashqai delivery.
A lady is stating she was told it is now arriving in October, and that the hybrid will be arriving in November.

I think the popularity of the Z may have taken them by surprise.
issue is, as it’s so popular, RRP is guaranteed to be higher than what we first thought….Nissan is trying to get themselves out of debt, and this is worrying.
Im guessing they know that there will be people who will cancel orders based on price, but as it looks like demand far outstrips the availability they won’t much care.

The sooner a set price is announced so we can see where we sit the better

I'm not in America. :)

The price here isn't a lot different to yours.

Lotus Emira = US$121,465 / Aus$165,118 (+ORC) before optional extras
our minimum hourly rate is $20.88
That's more than I get paid ... so definitely get those hands up! ? ;)
