Thanks mate. Just spoke to them. They're estimating $89k drive away... Bit more than I had thought. Bit of a step up from old Z prices.
Twice the price of the new BRZ is a huge ask. I guess on the upside it will make the decision on my next car easy ?

If they are getting cars June/ July I’d expect solid pricing no later than April/May …that’s not far away
im holding onto the last bit of hope I’ve got that it will come in under 80k

June/July!

I'm hearing it - and I'd love to believe it. But Nissan have said to all of us that the focus is on the Qashqai. I'm thinking that the june/July thing - an earlier release than many of us expected - just not be real. I cannot see it and quite frankly, id be bloody surprised if any of you guys did either.

I've recently changed employment and have started FIFO and I'm thinking that purchasing another house in the city is starting to look more important and I'll put the Z on the back-burner and wait and see what a Nismo edition looks like down the road.

The price isn't the problem for the Z IMO. The endless wait along with the deafening silence is. Lots of us have money down - I've got $5k down - and contracts in place and I feel we deserve more than the above.

I would not have believed it at all, had it not come from Cooperates mouth when I was there.
in fact they actually said the release has been moved up, originally August Sept timetime ( which would have married up with the August delivery statement on the bottom of the pre order sheet a while back) to June July.

I repeat this was not my dealer….Nissan Aus was actually there when I was and backed the statement , it’s hard to believe, I admit with the Quashi etc….but why would they say it when everyone is expecting an Aug Sept delivery or later?
Its not as though they need more orders?
Who knows, maybe the Z pre orders have outdone the Quashi?
When I asked my dealer how many cars he would get straight up he said…six without even thinking. I’m wondering if dealers have been told their allocations, because in the past he has been very cagey with that question.

But yes I agree, I have 4K down for a non Proto….I think we do deserve updates, it’s not chicken feed especially in the times in which we live …I hear your frustration and totally sympathise, as I fear the same

Don't get me wrong, I’m sceptical as well…but this is the first time I’ve had direct information, so I’m still hopeful.

I think they get 6 in every batch (monthly I'm guessing?) and I was told I'd be in the 3rd batch if I placed a deposit and it'd likely be a august/sept delivery.

Another Aussie checking in here. After finally getting the ok from the Mrs I put down a deposit 2 weeks ago. I sold it to my wife based on it being high 60's (but actually expecting it to be mid 70's). The above talk of high 80's has me a bit worried and I'd probably have to tap out at that price. I might be ok with low 80's for the Proto.

The dealer told me they'd had 30 preorders but not sure if that was just a ploy to get me to commit. It's a pretty large Sydney dealer so could be true. Once I committed he asked what my preference was - said Proto and he said there'd be two ahead of me in the queue (which seemed odd). Pretty much no chance of getting one but I'd be happy if I could get a yellow normal spec in Q3 sometime.

Id say a large Sydney dealership would have around 30…sounds right to me.
I hope you get your yellow normal ( that’s what I wanted also) the pre order page has stated the protis have been sold out for a numbe4 of weeks now. You’d be relying on someone cancelling their order to get one of those…l but that’s not out of the question, especially if the price is high

Nissan officially confirmed a month or two back that all Proto Spec's for Australia had been allocated and the only way to get one now was if someone who has one on order cancelled and you were next on the wait-list.

Yep, which would be a bitter sweet pickle. I accept there's basically no chance of getting a proto. Cancellations would likely only happen if it ends up being too expensive (possible) or if reviews are poor (unlikely).

Being too expensive will pretty much be the only reason why I would cancel my Proto Spec order.

what do we think of this article?
note the last paragraph…Qashqai due in the coming WEEKS, does car guides kniw something we don’t? Or are they just guessing?
They are usually pretty reliable

https://www.carsguide.com.au/car-ne...ai-epower-electric-suv-new-toyota-c-hr-hybrid
I haven't kept up with the news on the Qashqai but I can't find any information on the pricing on the new model for our market so I would doubt that it would be due for release in the coming weeks when pricing is yet to be announced.

It could possibly be that the pricing will be announced in the coming weeks but generally pricing is only announced at least a couple of months before release at a minimum so we would most likely be looking at a May/June release for the Qashqai.

So I am not sure if the Z release for June would be realistic if that is potentially the timeline for the Qashqai. I am still thinking late July/August is more realistic for the realease of the Z.

We say that, but yet Dan Passe has just confirmed they are expecting the Z in June in the US as well….and no information on that either, maybe they are just waiting till the last few weeks to make pulling out of pre orders harder?

Who knows….I’m going to keep positive
