Between the new Z and Bronco, I hadn't been so excited about a new vehicle in many years. Or as disappointed with delays, added costs and frustrations.

If Z has a later year launch with limited supplies, and with issues getting proper test drives, a chance of getting one could slide into 2024.

Feel like I'm reaching a tipping point in a different direction and focus.

I "don't see" 2024 being when the Z will become more common on lots but if your trying to get on in 2022 or the first half of 2023 I would work with someone soon.

I hope it is not a big markup. It's a big step for me. Been a Dodge Hemi guy forever. Just wanted to get the Z car because it's so retro. Never owned one I was always the RX-7 guy. But I always loved the 240 and the 280. But yeah if the pricing is going to be like they said with no markup I'm good to go otherwise look at these pictures I'm not in a hurry. So let's keep it at 40K to start and go from there. Or else I'll just roll in my charger in my truck and shake the houses when I drive by LOL

I can't speak for other dealers but I can say I PERSONALLY have been ensuring a mark up not to exceed 5k based on production numbers. Every dealership will handle their inventory independently. My top 3 goals sense I started my passion project back in July were 1. You will get the exact Z to the specification you want that Nissan will allow. 2. I've been working my ass off to ensure we get more Z cars than anyone in the US so people who work with me will get them as quick as possible. 3. I'm not about the horrible price gouging in the industry. I have to operate within the boundaries I am allowed so a guarantee of a mark up not to exceed 5k is where I am set.

The Z was always meant to be an affordable sports car that could be made to perform however you wanted it. Supported by a massive aftermarket catalog you could make it yours. The $15-$30k mark ups I've heard is just plain stealing and I would rather point someone in the direction of a dealer that will work within reason than be ripped off. I want to see thousands of these cars on the streets and not because people can afford to pay 65k for a car that starts at 40k.

Dan Passe has already state the Sport manual (base model) will start around 40k. That has been out and available sense the New York auto show in August. Youtuber StevewithaZ did a few interviews with him as well as myself.

Hello everyone, my name is Shawn Stegall and I work as a salesman at a Nissan dealership in Oklahoma City OK. I wanted to start this thread as a way for people to be able to reach out and ask questions for someone who works on the dealer side of things. Please don't hesitate to ask any question or make any comments you may have!

A little about me, I first fell in love with the Z car platform around the age of 7 with NFSU2 and Grand Turismo. The 350Z has just always had a special place in my heart sense then. Which is probably a big reason why I own a 2008 350z Nismo #0875. I was a mechanic for 7 years before an auto accident made me rethink my career choice. I wanted to stay in the auto industry but hard labor was pretty much a pipe dream so I moved to sales. May 26th will be my second year in sales and I have to say I have seen, heard, and learned A LOT about how things actually work inside a dealership.

I'm affiliated with dozens of Z car clubs, groups, and forums. I try to make it to as many national meets (Zcon and Znations to list some examples) as work will allow and I have met some incredible people doing so. Knowing guys who work for aftermarket companies like Z1 and AMSPerformance as well.

I do what I can to help out the enthusiast community in any way I can giving advise anywhere possible. This passion project of getting as many new Z cars on the road as possible I've undertaken solo. I'm not "sponsored" by the dealership in this, they don't pay me to go to meets and I use my personal time to answer any questions or take any calls. Which my wife is getting tired of the Z but she knows how much of a big deal this is to me. So doing what I can in the position I'm in I figured opening up about the dealer side of things was the best thing. As well as helping out in any area I can like introducing people to other enthusiasts, build ideas, helping buy or sell Zs, good local Z shops, etc.

As stated on here before I am a Sales Manager at a large volume Subaru Dealer and never ever on any vehicle have we ever charged over MSRP. And that includes Limited Edition STI's etc that we have had in the past. That is an insult to a customer and we will never do it. I have only been here for 36 years so maybe you can tell me where you have a leg to stand on by charging over MSRP. I am sure the customers that you do sell will be very happy every time they get into their car and know they over paid for their car. The quick short pop does not work in the long run and does not get you repeat and referral business. It just pisses me off when dealers take advantage of a customer and bang them when they think they can and worse when they think they can justify doing it. I will buy a new Z when it comes out but if told over sticker I can wait as long as it takes to pay MSRP for the car. I love this business and have worked 80 hours a week since I started and even come in on Sunday mornings to catch up on paper work etc. I can go any where and run into one of our customers and walk up and say hello and not hide in the corner because we did something wrong when we sold them their car. I am proud to do business the way we do.

i like how he puts lol right after huge markups... someone is going to have to show this guy bang for the buck math lol i mean bomin down here already offered me a c8 1lt at 63k no markups . plus now instead of losing 2k the in you drive off the lot its that plus whatever crazy markup they put , now your really upside down on that car , and when the market goes back to normal your stuck

Coincidently the CEO of Subaru of America just sent out a notice to all dealers. To stop immediately selling over MSRP. We will see who listens and who continues this practice. The letter states it hurts the brand name and all that it stands for. Kudos to Thomas Doll CEO of Subaru of America........

At this point I feel I'm never going to get this car so I'm just going to "enjoy" the ride and laugh.

So they style of wheel shouldn't matter it's the size. A friend of mine had the warranty and they denied his transmission because he went from a 245-45-18 to a 255-45-18. But yes the best work around is when you go to make a warranty claim just put the original wheels back on.

This is an interesting point so I'd thought I would weight in with some experience. Disclaimer: This is in the Canadian context. My last 370Z Roadster was completely Stillenized BY the Dealer. The Service/Parts team were known for amping up Zeds. The entire breathing from front to back was Stillen. Different set of aftermarket rims. Completely lowered. Camber tweaked. Complete H&R coilover suspension. And yes I had the odd warranty work associated with all of this and it was completely covered.

Fast forward to now, the dealership which I am currently dealing with tunes their Q60s and Zeds and has to my face told me as long as they do it that the car remains under warranty. Only just two examples from my own experience.
