Ethanol wreaks havoc on aluminum fuel tanks and carburetor parts. My Mirage is fuel injected, but I had to replace the aluminum fuel tank a few years ago. $7k.
It was rotted from the inside out with the same corrosion I see when I tear down a failed carburetor.
Whatever you say/think. Not going to argue with you about it since its such a divisive topic across the internet.

As info, both my wife & I are in the liquid fuels industry...for whatever that's worth :)

Huh, weird. Then why do my carburetors get destroyed when stored with E in them, but when I source E0 and store them in the same circumstances they are undamaged. Worst effect is stale fuel that doesn't run well.

I personally watched the boat tech cut open my fiberglass deck, take out the rotten tank. We went on an interesting quest to find a holy Grail nos OEM tank and I paid out my butt for all that.

Where I work we have a small engine repair shop, bring up ethanol to those guys and watch out.

I'm definitely not worried about E in the gas powered machines I use regularly, just the ones that get stored for long periods. I could be wrong, but the money I've spent has me "superstitious" at the very least.
