I went with HKS catted lower-down pipes and an AWE Touring exhaust. Could not be happier with the sound combination. No drone or NVH at all.

Can’t help but notice that stock Supra sounds better than full aftermarket exhaust on the z.
It's almost like one has turbos in the exhaust path and the other doesn't. What was Nissan thinking?! /s

It could be the design and natural blah-ness of the VR30, but I wonder if it has anything to do with Nissan specifically engineering it to sound like a Dyson vacuum cleaner.
Supposedly the death of the GT-R was in large part because of noise regulations. Although that’s always seemed like a convenient excuse as when you think of ā€˜loud cars’ the GT-R isn’t a front-runner on that list. Not to mention, you can make a big Hemi as quiet as a Camry, and throw a muffler(s) on a screaming IMSA 911 and quiet it down for tracks with noise reg’s.

I kinda think the woosh is cool when laying down the pedal.
