I'm running ohlins on my other car. Considering the same on the Z. I was curious why Nissan, or anyone for that matter, would use an inboard spring? Is this a heavy car thing?

I was told that for a passenger car like the G’s and/or Q’s, the inboard large progressive spring handles load increase ie: extra passengers and luggage better and that it is just passed through all of the like chassis due to cost savings. How much of this is true? Not sure but it does make sense. Especially when for the GT4 car they went to a true coilover rear.
