Hey guys, I just had my first go at working with braided steel fuel line. Cutting the hose and getting the female fitting on went smoother than expected, but now I’m running into another issue. I’m trying not to scratch up my AN fittings (including some evil energy an fittings) while tightening them.
I’ve tried wrapping them with a couple different types of tape, but even with a single layer, the wrench chews through and still marks the fitting. Since these aren’t cheap, I’m hoping there’s a better trick.
Any tips or tools you recommend to keep the fittings looking good?
Thanks!

Quality tools and a layer of tape is about the best you're going to do. In the end, the hex portion is meant to have a wrench on it and force applied to it.

I've had good luck with guerrilla tape for this purpose. You will have to clean off the fitting when you take the tape off but it's worth it.
