I want to upgrade my Sport FR & RR brake calipers. Looking at Akebono setup from the Performance trim. Is it worth going Nismo Akebono for Daily?

Do I need to replace the Brake Booster?
I will be trimming the dust shield.
Any other parts needed for the swap?

You can just buy the Nismo dust shields for pretty cheap (compared to the calipers).

I'm doing the same swap on the performance. The master for the performance is the same diameter bore as the Nismo (Nissan parts website says sport and performance master are the same) but has a different part number so I was going to swap it as well. I'm assuming the proportioning valving is different given the different part number. The booster is different also, but this probably mostly effects pedal feel.

The ABS module is also different, so I picked up a used Nismo one up as well. I'm not far enough along to know if this will need paired with the ecu or with just work out of the box, or possibly not work at all. The brake lines are also different for the sport.

You should swap the rear's as well (performance and Nismo are the same except Nismo rears have "Akebono" stamped on them so just grab some used performance calipers, or even 370z if you can find the red Akebono's)

Z1 does sell the Nismo caliper swap kit without the master/booster and ABS module so it does "work"... though I wouldn't fully trust their judgement....

TL:DR(some may be optional, you decide for yourself, I'm going as complete as possible):

Front:

1. Nismo Calipers

2. Caliper hardware kit (used calipers probably come with this)

3. Nismo pads(or aftermarket equivalent)

4. Brake lines (sports list a different part #)

5. Dust shields (I wouldn't skimp on this, they're like 40 bucks and have increased cooling cutouts:
41161-6GR0A - (LH) Driver
41151-6GR0A - (RH) Passenger )

6. Nismo rotors (cheap but HEAVY, recommend 2027+ Nismo two piece or aftermarket two-piece (racing brake, paragon, or endless if you're bougie)

Rear:

1. Z-Performance , Nismo or 4-pot 370z calipers

2. z-performance rear rotors

3. Lines (P/N is different on the sport)

4. performance pads (or aftermarket equivalent)

5. hardware kit for performance calipers.

6. Dust shields (used performance/Nismo or 4 pot 370z )

Hydraulics:

1. Master cylinder (probably a proportioning valve difference, same diameter and again z1 doesn't bother but.....)

2. Nismo brake booster (probably only effects pedal feel, again Z1 doesn't bother, but it's z1 so....)

2. ABS module (unconfirmed compatibility with the sport/performance ecu yet, but they swapped fine on the 370. Really this is only needed if you want to do it exactly right. but I'm not sure how the stock ABS computer will work with the larger front volume, it might be a disaster when ABS is activated without swapping this, it might be fine..... Also, allegedly the Nismo abs versions are more sport oriented and less likely to go into ice-mode and send you into a wall... )

pointless on a daily, you'll never notice the difference
