I picked up a 2025 Performance last week and was, like everyone else, instantly dismayed by the "premium" Bose system. This site has been a ton of help so far as I start planning a full system build, especially since YouTube seems to be lacking.

I did run across a guy who had an easy solution to increase bass output for Android Auto users. The sound quality in his video wasn't great, but he claimed it was a significant improvement. Basically he just downloaded an EQ app and created a specific profile for his Z. I honestly had a hard time believing it could possibly make any real difference, but I gave it a go and it was shockingly effective. Suddenly I have tight, loud bass, enough that my wife insisted I turn it down when I get close to the house 😂

The front soundstage is also slightly improved, but I still plan on a full system replacement at some point because the speaker quality is clearly lacking.

You can check out his video here:

Thanks. Downloaded and trying out tomorrow. 😁👍
Update, yes it does work! Better base and sound fullness. Thank you!

Has anyone tried any of the eq apps available on iPhone?

Thanks OP, will give it a try. I too am let down by the Bose system. I've had vehicles where wired, even wireless Android Auto sounded better than Bluetooth alone; not with the Z, just mediocre with Bluetooth or wired Android Auto.

I was seriously looking at the available JBL powered sub, but ended up doing all the "necessary" mods first. Still considering.

This amp looks good too, what a chore having to remove the whole dash though. I'd want a good audio shop for this. Would be very curious to see how the EQ app would work in tandem with this:

Plug & Play Amp + Sub Output for 2007-2025 Nissan | Beat-Sonic ENA-3N1 | Beat-Sonic USA

I've been looking at this as a viable option to add a powered sub to the trunk. It would be a $1500 experiment after buying everything (including the Encore Amp), so it's been "on the back burner" while I allocate $$ to some more pressing projects.

Just tried it with iphone. Works with downloaded content from my YouTubes into apple music. Just turn it to the bass added setting. Didn't work with live music.

Thanks for the info on this app. I'm always running Android Auto and streaming either Spotify or Serious XM through my phone. This app really seemed bringthe Bose system to life!
