Was that lock on the OEM wheels of your Z?I had a clicking noise coming from a wheel and it turned out to be a cracked wheel lock. I know it wasn't over torqued but it completely split and created a clicking noise when the wheel turned. My car had about 4k miles on it. Tech tried to tell me it was a center cap.
Yes, this is the lock on the car when I bought it new this summer. If that was the case, then I would assume the others would ultimately fail. Seems like a lot of rust for a new car so I was thinking there might have been a crack in it already.
If you're running stock wheels you need to replace the locks as they're not the correct type. The OEM wheels need mag/shank lug nuts where this is an acorn/tuner style. With acorns on a mag/shank wheel you have less wheel stud engagement AND less contact surface. An acorn lug nut can also deform the lug holes on an allow mag/shank wheel if repeatedly tightened. You do have 4 other lug nuts holding the wheel securely, so it's not like you're going to have something horrible happen. But I'd swap them with mag/shank locks or lug nuts ASAP.
