I don't think the 455HP figure has been confirmed anywhere only speculated at this stage but that figure either way I believe would be too high for the regular M2, the M2 Comp possibly but definitely not the normal M2.
Well, it ended up being 453 hp 🙂

So I was right and 455 hp was too high for the regular M2 😜

In all honesty that figure is a lot higher than I expected as the M2 Competition looks likely it will match the output of the G80 M3/M4 manual with around 473 hp which makes it a little weird that the output would possibly be so close to a higher model in the lineup.

Too heavy!

Long time BMW fan 30year owner. Disappointed. there has to be a way it could have come in around 32-3300. They want these cars filled with so much luxury and gee wizz bells and whistles that just pile on weight. I don't need or want 30-way heated and cooled seats that weigh 75lbs (hyperbole)

but as an idiot track rat i am 100% not the demographic.

99% of the "track" people just want a car that does well twice a year when they sign up for some HPDE and then drive the car 60% of its ability- sigh

Sorry but...styling is again overdone, BMW designers gone mad again! They basically tacked on squared off elements front and rear that does NOT flow well with the rest of the car, which is still the OG 240i. Side profile is good, fender bulges awesome. Plus any M2 has no business being over 3800lbs!

Pricing starts off at $63K, ok, but like BMW practices, options will quickly drive up that base price. And those carbon M seats, wonder how much of a premium that is??

One positive is standard 6-speed manual, yes!!

Carbon buckets are a $4,500 option on the G80/82. I'll take those and the carbon roof but they can keep most of the M Perf parts.

I love the styling. This car will stay on the street for me so I'm not worried about weight. Pretty sure my '09 is close to 3,600 lbs anyway. I want the top model LCI that's offered with a 6MT and that may very well be my final pure ICE vehicle.

That's a pricey little beast up here. Factor in just the sales tax and the "starting" model comes in at a whopping $86,450. Not sure what their freight and PDI is, but I'm guessing she'll be pushing close to 90k out the door without any options.

Ouch.
