  1. Tune required after CAI and Catback?

Would you happen to know if the Z1 intakes are 2.5? I cannot seem to find anything regarding diameter on their website.
  2. Here’s Why Deeply Discounted Nissan Zs Are Going Away—Maybe for Good

100%. Spot on about the S2000’s. Sports cars that historically didn’t sell all that well or don’t have big production numbers typically end up being highly sought after. This car is very analog compared to most cars on the market today. Mark my words the current generation of Z’s will be future...
  3. Tune required after CAI and Catback?

Looking at potentially doing cold air intakes and a catback. What’s the general consensus on needing a tune after doing an intake and exhaust? I know you aren’t maximizing the potential of the mods without tuning but would prefer not to at this time. No plan on downpipes either as of now.
  4. Here’s Why Deeply Discounted Nissan Zs Are Going Away—Maybe for Good

Good news for the resale value on all of our cars. If you’ve been contemplating a purchase. Do it now!
  5. Any updates on the VR30 head issue?

Appreciate you sharing. Lots to digest here. If you don't mind me asking, are there any more details that you are aware of? Was he/she tuned?
  6. Any updates on the VR30 head issue?

Exactly. While I’m grateful of everyone on this community, and each of our contributions. I think this thread is turning into a bit of a hunt for the boogeyman. The company (whom I trust) that essentially made the technical discovery to the best of my knowledge on the original cylinder head...
  7. Any updates on the VR30 head issue?

    Appreciate you sharing that!
  8. Any updates on the VR30 head issue?

This is key. You make a great point. Lots of variables to this entire situation. Stock vs Modified? And, to what level of modification? In most instances you aren’t sending a motor out to be fully built unless you’ve essentially exhausted what it’s capable of with bolt on’s and tunes. I...
  9. Any updates on the VR30 head issue?

Literally every enthusiast car I’ve ever owned has some inherit flaw to it related to the powertrain. It’s just the nature of internal combustion engines. It’s nearly impossible to develop a completely flawless high performance engine. My E46 M3 had the rod bearings to worry about (amongst...
  10. A tire question winter vs a/s: Which is the better choice?

A/S 4’s are great tires if you need a “do it all” if you will. I’ve had 2 sets of them. They are capable of handling light snow duty without compromising handling too much once it gets warmer again. There is still a tradeoff with it being an all season tire though if your Yokohama’s are a true...
  11. 2026 Nissan Z Pricing Heritage Starts at $57,155

    Man…that is one gorgeous car.
  12. From Performance to NISMO

+1 on this. My 3 previous cars were all dual clutch cars. The auto in these cars is no slouch and I think it’s drawn some unfair criticism since it’s not a true dual clutch and it isn’t a ZF. But in Sport + my Nismo shifts just as fast as my Audi S4 did. Personally, I find the auto in Sport +...
  13. From Performance to NISMO

I’d do it while you can still find deals on 24’s that have been sitting. I have the sneaking suspicion this car is going to be very sought after one day.
  14. From Performance to NISMO

    Congrats! That’s awesome!
  15. PPF pricing?

I had a full frontal done on mine for $2,700 by a very reputable PPF shop here in Indy. 6k although on the higher side, doesn’t seem completely unreasonable for an entire car. I’ve probably had 10 cars PPF’d. In my experience, you get what you pay for. Just my two cents.
  16. Looking for Feedback on the AT in the New Z

My last vehicle had a dual clutch. I have yet come close to pushing my car since I’m still in the break in but I’ve honestly been really impressed with the 9AT thus far. I know the Nismo has a bit more aggressive programming but overall this transmission doesn’t deserve anywhere near the...
  17. Did I scam myself?

    This ^^^
  18. Break-in period

I am so jealous of those roads!
  19. Oil change?

I’ve owned a lot of new vehicles and after every break in period I’ve changed the oil. My personal opinion is that it is wise to get that oil out sooner rather than later. With my Z, I intend to half what Nissan recommends for oil change intervals. Granted, my Z is not my daily. Are you...
