I wish but nope. Registration $75 includes tshirt, goodie bag, couple raffle tickets, Texas chili. HPDE track day/drift was $250 which is reasonable nowadays for any track. Man your GF could've enjoyed the festivities and car shows, very well done by the desertzassociation and zcca.
Stillens work great, plenty adjustable, I trust them been around for years, and still can use existing brackets and endlinks, check out my track video on the ZCON 2026 thread. Not too stiff, lots of control in corners. Mine is setup full stiff front, soft rear.
Running with ZCCA, first time on this West track, with other Z clubs and our GroupZ. Surprisingly cool summer day in Phoenix, overcast 70s, sure was a blessing! Weather was nice to my setup Carbotech XP12/10, RE71RZ, GTR fluid, no issues, temps oil, diff fine, and no fade, great modulation. The...
I think you'll be perfect to work for Nissan's PR department :like:
....but you're correct, when I see a Supra now it's all about boy-racer styling, trying too hard to be aggressive, total opposite to the timeless RZ34 styling.
Great inputs, and yep owners complaining because of metrics alone, i.e. comparison testing, vs the real emotions of driving, whether at the track or street. I knew when purchasing my Perf 6MT that foremost is the heritage this RZ34 brings to the table (owned 4 240Zs before), and it's a...
Easy install of Kanjo hood struts, and agree, these should be OEM, Nissan skimped with the hood rod. Best install without any trim notching is with the lock washer above the fender, Kanjo recommended a dab of red Loctite for this option. Done!
It's the same Z that came on the hatch. I replaced that with the JDM 'Fairlady Z' emblem. That 'Z' is now on the grille, double-face taped at top and bottom, fits just snug betw the grille slats. Now it completes the 'Nissan' and 'Z' up front.
Thanks! I originally wanted the beautiful V1 Nismo 5-spokes, same square 10.5" fitment, but these grew on me, plus the V2s are slightly lighter overall per the specs. They're both solid, straight Rays forged quality plus being hubcentric, can't go wrong.
Waiting for my Kanjo struts, hoping to be here before next week's ZCON, the only prep left. Agree these should be OEM, not much heavier to matter, but Nissan bean counters wouldn't allow them IMO.
I'll be in hot Arizona next week at Firebird testing my step #1 upgrade - stock Performance Akebonos, XP12/XP10 pads, RBF660, RE71RZ - and will report back on brake feel and performance throughout the day. Honestly, next upgrade will be 2-piece rotors, not Nismo Z rotors, for lighter unsprung...
