Fake news and poor video... the entire purpose of which is to get you to go his channel. And he needs to get the name right: "Z" not 400Z (which was never the name). This from somebody who claims to be somehow closer to Nissan.
We'll, we will just skip buying the car now because the mixer...
Except that the M3/4 engine has a significantly different block, head, internals and more. And the driveline is also very different. You can always get big numbers, but making them reliably without crapping out the whole thing is a very different story. The Supra is already a very expensive car...
When you've had no new product for several years, and when you at last have a development budget, albeit very limited - this is how you educate the market about your heritage, what's unique, and why this is worth a look again. This type of marketing is how and why the new Z will get off to a...
Look in the back of a 370Z for the answer. Same silver bar, same security shade. The new Z might have a tiny bit more space at the back due to the different placement of the taillights but it's ~98% the same.
Compared to your Mustang, the trunk is much shorter, but the opening is far wider and...
1st, have they told you that they have been told something? Does the salesperson or sales manager even know about it?
Then, if so:
- did they attend Nissan's meeting where it was shown?
- tech details
- price
- availability
- allocation to dealers.
Take anything they say with a grain of salt...
These aren't comparable, they are in two different classes entirely.
Like these press people comparing a Leaf to a Tesla - just because they are both electric. I always get a laugh out of those writers.
That said, the 86 and BRZ have both taken a big step forward. Lots of questions to be...
In other words, identical.
The next remaining question is the rear sitelines... we know the view out the rear side windows is as terrible as before... but is the rear window a little better? It's probably the same on the sides and top, but perhaps the bottom is a bit deeper.
I've had students...
Let's remember what Nissan is doing here... for only a little development and manufacturing cost they are offering buyers additional options. And in the spirit of much earlier Zs with rare retro colors inside and out. You have to give them kudos for effort, and it's vitally important to get...
And does anybody think that BMW is going to let Toyota offer the the Supra with the 3 liter M3/4 turbo engine (480 HP and 510 in Competition option)? No way.
The new Z will do very well on both price and performance.
I still don't get that dashboard..... the entire upper part of the dash is a shiny and hard plastic piece, and it doesn't at all fit well with the lower half. The pic of the dash of the silver car really shows this issue, as does the blue interior car. This is IMHO a temporary piece in the...
And then what happens to the GT-R? It's sales are almost at a standstill... it's too heavy to complete against Porsche 911 anymore, development has come to a standstill and it's hard to see what else could be done to it. If you give away it's major differentiator, and you create a Z with it's...
Actually the Q60/50 and 370Z are on the same "FM" platform (as was the G37, G35, G25, FX... and so on), so AWD has been an option all along. Now that the new Z is again on the same exact platform, it could be offered. And they all go down the same assembly line.
And why - traction. As the power...
We know it's the same FM chassis underneath. It's just added the engine from it's platform brother Q50/60. This is not to belittle it, because the FM chassis is excellent and very highly aluminum intensive. Platform sharing saves all kinds of money and cost, and now it's provided the new engine...
Note that this is clearly a pre-production hand-built prototype... the dashboard fit and finish for example is terrible. and some of those parts of the dash look like temporary smooth plastic.
Next step is to see these driving on the roads... just as we saw prototypes of the 350Z and 370Z...
This is why it shouldn't be named "400Z" - just Z. "400" precludes any HP increase, any other engines, any other powertrains such as a hybrid because all of those would have a different HP rating. And PS does not equal HP ratings.
