Overall I've lost performance from an initial basline dyno.
Lost ~4kw with cat-back exhaust and then picked up pretty much nothing with the intakes.
Important to note - I'm not tuning as I go. I'm literally just running a baseline after each mod to see what immeidate effect it has.
Booked in...
Any chance you could grap a photo of the switch that Nissan installed?
I can't quite make out from the Nissan manual where it actually sits in the car (keeping in mind we probably have a different button config in AU).
Something that has surprised me is the lack of spare button/toggle switches...
FWIW I think the Z4 and Nissan Z's are completely different cars (number of seats/doors aside).
Get a Z4 if you want a car that has everything you want and you won't look to mod.
Get a Z if you want something to modify.
The Z's trim is very, VERY lackluster. Just bought my mum a $25k Mazda on...
Exhaust is done, but I'm intentionally not tuning yet.
I am doing baseline dynos after every little mod- will do one big tune at the end. I want to get it on E85 in the next month or two.
Little bit of intake noise, but very little.
Keep in mind too that I have disabled noise cancellation and artificial engine noise, so with those still on I would doubt anyone in the car could hear a difference at all.
Haven't dynoed yet, but no discernable power difference either.
I sort of see...
Really what I should do is get another person to make some comments on it.
@Mud next C&C maybe you can take mine out for a quick spin and see what difference you think all these little tweaks have made?
Honestly man I love them.
You definitely, DEFINITELY want air cups if you are going to lower it. If I don't, it catches the front lip on just about everything...
I've played with the firmness (is that the right word?) a few times, and the adjustment can make a world of difference to the...
All good - I'll need to strip it down again anyway, getting a much lower boost reading after installing the driver's side (in AU - so the side with the vacuum line).
Might see if I can source a K&N typhoon or something just for a play.
Any dealers using this as an excuse are *probably* full of shit.
BMSB seasonal measure do not apply to goods shipped out of Japan. The only intervention would be increased surveillance at a vessel level - not the goods themselves.
For interest sake, the seasonal measures run from September...
If priority is lap times, new tyres will help.
I'll be on the Bridgies for a while yet - they go fine for street driving. They are slippery*ish, but that kinda makes them fun.
Finally got them installed. Even after knowing/seeing exactly how the Intake Tube to MAF sensor retaining clip works it was an absolute nightmare to get off.
Cannot hear any difference in intake noise from inside the cabin, and don't have any friends, so can't test external revs! ?
Will...
Z1 Intakes installed.
Honestly should have been a 30 min job, but took hours because of the stupid retaining clip Nissan use on their OEM inlet tubes (connecting to MAF housing)
Haven't dyno'd yet, but to my great disappointment I can't hear anything different... I love intake noise ?
Thanks for that!
I did actually have it already (sorry, shoud have said, but thank you for taking the time to post it up!)
The issue was I couldn't get the clip in image 1 to move down to it's position in image 3.
I could easily pop the side out (2 to 5) but they wouldn't stay out, and the...
How.
The.
F**k....
do I get this f**king clip off...?
I can unseat either side, but the MAF housing won't come free of the turbo inlet tube...
