I agree it is RPM and load dependent, but there is also something related to throttle inputs (aka driving style) that I haven’t figured out. It will hit 9th in the 40’s and 5 minutes later it won’t, in identical conditions (ie flat road, speeds, even attempted throttle inputs).
I mostly drive...
I’m honestly thinking it’s just smarter than us at this point. If I don’t pay attention, it seems to always be in the right gear for conditions. Normally I am irritated by tranny programming, but the only thing irritating about the Z is that I don’t understand the logic.
It’s a mystery to me. I know Sport mode plays a role, but after 22,000 miles I still can’t figure out why it’ll shift into 9th at 45 then won’t shift into 9th in a day of driving 60-70 on highways. I think the tranny is like most, has a number of cycles that it holds onto in memory to adjust to...
Yes, that is correct. I’m not saying detergents defy physics. If your fuel does not contact valves, it is true it cannot clean the valves.
Let me clarify my statement. Detergent in gasoline will clean everything it touches and leave it at that. Thanks for the clarification. ;)
Yeah, there’s a huge difference. Sam’s Club is just gas and Shell is the same gas (probably, depending on location relative to refineries) with a Shell proprietary additive package that makes it Top Tier. The additives clean the entire system from the tank and pump to the injectors and likely...
Unless you live in a zone between refineries where distributors to your stations are pulling from different refiners, all of the gas is the same gas. It’s only the additives that are different. The tankers all go to the same place and if they distribute to Shell, the put the Shell add pack in...
I have so many rattles and creaks at 20k miles I don’t even notice this one anymore. I just roll the windows down and crank up the stereo. If I ride quiet with the windows up the entire car is talking to me. Noise comes from everywhere. Sounds like a horse carriage in 20F temps
You won’t get many responses because it’s cheap to tint a $50k car. Maybe $300, $400. Just bite the bullet and get the tint. I haven’t tinted mine and don’t care but it’s cheap
I love the new Muranos. Wife owns our 3rd in the 2015-2024 or whatever model range. I sat in the new one inside the dealer and it seemed awesome to me in comparison of vehicles at that price.
