  1. Complaint about the Z release

Speaking of Taiwan and the color red, I just got this red made in Taiwan rolling tool chest. Hey, I can't get any of the new vehicles I want, at least I can be happy about this. :) (Hopefully someday I'll use it when working on a new Z.)
  2. General Ask a Nissan Salesman Thread

I bought my first new car a couple years ago ... and took along a pencil and paper, lol. I kept carefully and deliberately reviewing my checklist, running some calculations, and making sure I didn't miss any key concerns. For me it was helpful. Although, I was there for nearly 4 hours! Maybe...
  3. ⏱ 2023 Nissan Z Launch Timeline Schedule - SOP, Media First Drives, Sales Start

For me a thing is, how long the COVID hangover is dragging out. In terms of vehicles, I'm reading estimates of years for vehicle chip production and other stuff. People on multi year waiting lists for some vehicles. I feel sometimes, there is a "new norm", where it's more ok to simply not have...
  4. ⏱ 2023 Nissan Z Launch Timeline Schedule - SOP, Media First Drives, Sales Start

Here in the Chicago area with some high fuel taxes, petrol was $4 at the pump yesterday. I read somewhere the new Nissan Z would get an estimated 20/27 city/highway mpg. I think that was conjecture based on how the engine does in a current vehicle and some other criteria. I don't see this...
  5. ⏱ 2023 Nissan Z Launch Timeline Schedule - SOP, Media First Drives, Sales Start

I've read some comments, that the new Nissan Z will be a limited production vehicle. If true, what exactly does that mean? Does it mean A or B?: A) Limited production due to the current world problems and related production constraints, but will ramp up based on demand and end of constraints...
  6. ⏱ 2023 Nissan Z Launch Timeline Schedule - SOP, Media First Drives, Sales Start

Well, it's not coming to me this Spring. And likely not the remainder of 2022. And possibly not even in 2023 either, the way some things are going. In which case, this vehicle would kind of be dead to me, since 2024 is a world away, and I live my life a quarter mile at a time. ;) Seriously...
  7. More delays possible?

My wife has dual USA/Estonian citizenship. Estonia (a country located on the Baltic Sea just west of Russia) escaped from the clutches of Soviet occupation in 1991. I've visited Estonia many times, and own a small farmland there. The transformation of the country since occupation has been...
  8. US Nissan Dealerships

Subaru - I love my BRZ! And especially that I got it (used but nice condition), just prior to COVID price madness. This car has been my first step into pavement performance (compared to my lumbering 4x4s). Hope someday to graduate to a new Z, but plan to keep this car for a long time knock on...
  9. What will stop you from owning the new Z?

On another vehicle I'm interested in (Bronco), today I learned Ford raised prices. Looks like my build is nearly $2000 higher in cost as of today. :( Hoping the Nissan Z launch does not go sideways like Ford's launch. But delays and issues and ever increasing prices and ADMs ... all that stuff...
  10. Should Nissan bring back the 2+2 layout?

2 seats is fine for space ... just add a sporty camp trailer. :)
  11. General Ask a Nissan Salesman Thread

Between the new Z and Bronco, I hadn't been so excited about a new vehicle in many years. Or as disappointed with delays, added costs and frustrations. If Z has a later year launch with limited supplies, and with issues getting proper test drives, a chance of getting one could slide into 2024...
  12. Should Nissan bring back the 2+2 layout?

While understanding the enjoyment of sometimes just going out for "a drive", the Z will be more fun for myself and family, if flexible enough to also use as regular transportation that includes running errands with cargo, and on longer trips for vacations etc. And 2x2 helps with that, even when...
  13. The Z will be in dealers by May 2022? / Just heard from my dealer - first allocations arriving in May

The OP mentions having a decade long relationship with the particular dealer. If the OP has been a long time customer spending money at the dealership, it's quite possible the dealership sees overall value in only charging MSRP. Hopefully it works out. My experience in the Chicagoland area is...
  14. General Ask a Nissan Salesman Thread

I expect for any new popular vehicle, the early birds will generally be customers willing to pay extra, or those who have connections. I don't necessarily have a big problem with that, as I like to see and test drive and mull things over, before making a large purchase. So typically, I will not...
  15. The Z will be in dealers by May 2022? / Just heard from my dealer - first allocations arriving in May

Just be sure it's not MSRP ... plus "extras" such as nitrogen, VIN etching, customer care package, etc.
  16. 2023 Nissan Z (Boulder Gray) on Display at Chicago Auto Show

Do you know if Seiran Blue is a 2 or 3 stage? I was trying to find a list of the colors and which are tri-coat pearls.
  17. *WARNING* If you put money down to "preorder" please read. Nissan confirms NO pre-orders for 2023 Z.

Hope it works out for you. But "my dealer said ... " is a running joke over at the Ford Bronco forums these days. So buyer beware. One guy reserved a Bronco with a salesman who was a childhood school friend, but when the Bronco finally arrived, the dealership wanted a huge ADM. It blew up into...
  18. What will stop you from owning the new Z?

If the price vs usefulness of the vehicle diverge too far, that could cause me to tap out. Or if it takes so long to get the vehicle (years), and the circumstances of life change, causing the vehicle to no longer fit lifestyle or location.
  19. What will stop you from owning the new Z?

The lack of visibility on many newer vehicles, due to raised beltlines, lower canopies and obstructions, is a gripe of mine. No wonder rear view cameras are needed these days, when a driver can hardly see out the back windows. Hoping the new Z has decent visibility with the low (at least in the...
  20. Boulder Gray Walk Around by Raiti's Rides

I'd get the Boulder Gray ... if wanting to color match my living room walls. ;)
