100% agree. It’s a sellers market for cars. And when interest rates peak there will be all sorts of discounted toys. But when you look at actual purchase price of 87ish you can enjoy your car for as long as you want and not worry about depreciation as long as you miss the 3 and 5 year lease agreements.

I still have a C63 and lotus 7 that have doubled and tripled in value since I bought them. I will be enjoying my Z every weekend and know it’s not going to lose its value.

the proto listed sold to a buyer that missed out on the first round. Seller would not disclose the price bit Did say is was sub $100k

I think that is perfectly reasonable and akin to 10% finders fee
Yeah that is not worth it then.
Dunno if that includes on roads (probs not- ad was excluding) but only one who really wins there is the government/s with their stamp duty/LCT.

Oh and while we are flexing our appreciating assets, my wife has a 2012 VW Tiguan that has doubled in value in the last ~2 years :-D
I'm sure this insanity will start to settle as people default on their overextended mortgages and are forced to stop buying new cars!

Honestly.
If someone offered me 40k more I would take it.

whilst in many years time they will be worth more they won’t be in 2 years.

I may really want the car but I’m also not an idiot.

But on mytimeline that’s also not an issue for me!

but don’t want to miss the peak.

i was curious on the first if was a scam and reached out.
He replied that he took a deposit in minutes

looks like got asking price.

missed the 2nd it went up and down whilst I was asleep.

Hard to pick the peak as there will be a surge at the start, but not all owners will sell and then FOMO may start to rear its head and prices on the fewer offerings made available will surge. Will be curious to watch this space. Perhaps it might peak just before/after Xmas?

Anyone know if this happened with the Supra's? ?

Dangero made it sound like he also reached out to the buyer, and got a very different answer:

"the proto listed sold to a buyer that missed out on the first round. Seller would not disclose the price bit Did say is was sub $100k"

The one I posted literally went up and down in minutes. I actually missed saving the website link it was that fast.

This whole situation is fascinating... I may have been born without a FOMO centre in my brain or something, but I honestly just can't fathom it!
$129k was excluding on roads.
+$7k transfer duty
+$17k LCT

That has cost someone over $150k if it went for asking price...

2nd hand so no LCT.

at least that my belief.

Oh and the 129k one seems not to have sold. But might be coming back up.

Got my test drive in. I'm impressed.

Did you have a deposit there? Or just asked for a drive? I have a deposit at another dealer so not sure how it works if I drove over there today :)
Thanks mate

This on selling is the fastest way to become like the US market.

Dealers see this and the next step will be to remove pricing from their website so they can start charging as much as they like for dealer delivery…the advertising of the price is the only thing stopping this becoming a reality, and something they can easily do.

Even houses don't go up 50k overnight, and if you want a house you can always buy another, if you want a Z proto it’s the only chance you will get

I hate this
