One of the cars coming to one of our dealerships is a Yellow manual and was built in May. VIN is lower then the above three.

You're kinda right in potentially getting offered something else, dealers will end up with coupe allocations outside of the order parameters and generally will offer these, or sometimes horse trade with other dealerships. That said I would be surprised if you don't get your exact car in early to mid September.

So are you saying you have a VIN for a non proto yellow?
That would indicated coupe deliveries also not far away

I still dont think anyone will get a coupe in September, Nissan still have to call people tell them yes you got a car that matches your pre-order, do you still want it yes or no, then you have a day or two to respond. Other option Nissan rings and tells you the transmission is not what you wanted, again yes or no, Nissan tells you color is different do you wanted, yes or no. I hope I'm wrong but it wasn't exactly smooth with the proto roll out, with less cars, so unless they learnt from this it's going to take weeks to inform people in the first batch of coupe orders.

Called a dealer in Hawaii to enquire about some parts on their website, was told that Nissan had allocated part numbers but no catalogue numbers existed yet and could not order as Z has not been officially released?

Yeah pretty sure insurance saw the 'R' in the name and decided it's a supersport. I've been trying to get back on a bike and insurance is the scariest bit of it.

It was ~$90 at the beginning, it dropped over the years.

Nope, they should have two and share them. After all they don’t NEED to sell anymore for quite some time, and there are already 100s of US reviews, same car…so give the cars to actual buyers

So being this is Nissan's new hero car they are not trying to sell more Zs.

They are hoping joe citizen will now come into the dealer to check out the cool car and then they can sell them a run out xtrail.

It's about lead generation more than selling Zs.
