Now you know why there aren't any to buy at dealers yet ... they keep butchering them into race cars instead. :(

Yep, great results really, 3rd (Nismo), 5th (Nismo), and 7th (Impul Calsonic), for a maiden race on the new Z chassis. Best qualifier was 7th but too conservative on tires. Can't wait until next race at Fuji.

Very happy considering that massive crash of the Motul Z driver is OK no major injuries! About 150mph into the barriers, what testament to the build of that new chassis!!

Race restart was wild, sort of, bec of penalties. Top Toyotas penalized for this, 20 sec penalty, no way to recover from pits. Driver cannot get out and inspect tires. Wow!

Good positive is, Calsonic Z came in 3rd, podiumed under the circumstances. Wild!

They were able to fix this barrier, amazing! One tire was lodged in there somewhere.

I really have that feeling it was on purpose that Supra driver caused the accident. It could've turned much, much worse!! I hope an investigation comes out of it, that's nasty tactics.

If it was indeed intentional, I feel like that's the kind of thing that should get you banned for life - when you willfully pull shit that endangers other racers' lives.

I'm reminded of this guy and the absolute dirthole stuff he did:

Yep, admitted it.

"Although the crash was caused by a series of unusual events, not least the slow-moving GT300 car on a straight that measures more than a kilometre in length, some drivers have suggested Sekiguchi shouldn’t have left it so late to duck out of the slipstream when he had two cars running behind him.

Wakisaka, himself a three-time champion in GT500, strongly suggested that Sekiguchi could have acted differently to avoid the incident that brought a premature end to the race."

Disgraceful. Sekiguchu has brought dishonor to himself, his team, and his family. The only option left is seppuku... but I suppose it'd be ok to settle for a hefty fine and lengthy suspension.

Looks like he got instant karma, though - his win was forfeit when he got assigned a 40 second penalty for touching the car in pits and as a result was dropped to 13th. Righteous.
