thanks, must be different rules in WA re covid payment, had covid and got payment
It is for our state payout…you get nothing if you have more than 10k liquid assets which rules out anyone saving for anything, be it a holiday, house car university fees ( upfront payments) etc
it pretty much rules out almost everyone

A bit off track, but someone posted earlier that there is a Z in Melbourne ( apologies to the person, I can’t remember who made the statement)
But I’ve noticed just lately a lot of advertising for Melbourne City FC as they are sponsors.
What do you reckon the chances are of the car turning up at one of the matches for advertising/display purposes….and do we have any Melbourne City fans online that attend games?

How would making them all the same make any difference to everything you have given to not release it?
No drives, is no drives.
Announcing pricing takes two seconds
What I meant was that the Proto Spec's are potentially the only model that could be available by July given that they should all be the same configuration assuming there are no options for it and there is a finite number of them being made. However given that choice of transmission is an option I wouldn't expect many to be built until orders are finalised.

First drives give customers some perspective into what to expect with the car and might give some pro's and con's to evaluate. It can potentially provide enough information to some consumers as to whether it will be worth the wait or to move on and find something else.

We have already seem a few members move on from this car due mainly to the wait time but this is also due to the lack of information. It is much easier to wait for something if you have some information telling you that it will be worth the wait but we literally have no information about it yet we are already potentially so close to the release

I don’t see why Nissan Aus would tell dealers July and ask for all orders to be finalised, if they are not getting ready…especially as everyone thought the timeline would be closer to Sept
To me orders can't really be finilsed until we get pricing, full specifications and list of options and a proper contract and we are yet to get any of this information and are only about 3 months until the supposed first cars arrive. If Nissan has began production it would have to be more generic configurations as they shouldn't really go off pre-orders as we haven't fully configured them yet and we can't do that until we know pricing and options.

Most manufactures are stating multiple months to a year plus from ordering a car to actually receiving it. My brothers was told a minimum of 4 months for his CX-8 that he ordered at the start of the year. My M140i which I ordered in 2017 with no supply issues still took 4 months for me to receive it

So I still find it hard to believe that Nissan can get the Z to customers in such a short time when their is still so many things not known.

I might be completely wrong but it just doesn't seem feasible to me for the majority of us to actually expect to receive our cars by July.

I understodd what you meant.
What I meant was if first drives are so important they would be important for the Proto as well…so if they won’t release the regular without them, I doubt they would release the Proto without it either.
In terms of manufacturing there is very little difference between the two ( especially if you got a yellow performance) A couple of extra badges, different wheels, and some stitching …these things would not make a massive difference in terms of manufacturing

As to orders…of course they can be finalised…they have a wait list of more than double of what they will get first run, therefore if they can’t get you exactly what you want and you refuse what’s offered, they will just sell it to the next punter.
I highly doubt they are making them to order, my guess if they will get an allocation and Nissan Aus will fill whats ordered as best they can to what they get…just the same as what’s always happened in Australia

Japans news has actually officially revealed they will be getting theirs in June…they are RHD just like us.
I think it’s highly plausible they would pump ours out at the same time as Japan

Anyway,..like I said I have believed before and was wrong…but because the July date came direct from Nissan Australia’s suits I felt more positive about it …time will tell I suppose

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but my dealer has informed me that the Nissan Z is the next car in line and that the Qashqai has been pushed back. He was hoping for some updates in April.

Great news…I think we all suspected as much, but it’s great to hear that it’s actually the case …as to updates I hope that his hopes are fulfilled ?
Next week marks a full year since I put my deposit in ?

Bit of a silly idea, I'd be curious to know if Nissan will be applying the Hawthorn FC $1500 member discount on the new Z.
They offer different amounts per model currently, with the 370Z getting the full $1500: https://membership.hawthornfc.com.au/member-zone/member-rewards
The cheapest membership is $105 for the year.
I don't care for the Hawks at all, but I would sign up just for a nice little discount XD

Nice spotting…I’m a West Aussie that hates AFL but hey I can be fan for a year if it means a a $1500 discount
I’d want confirmation it applies to all Nissan vehicles before signing up.
even the lowest $300 amount, you’d still be ahead

Anyone ever thought about an electric tailgate/hatch release, I was thinking about when I had my 370Z but could not find a kit or any if it had been done before. Would be a nice add on to new Z
