Dealer just emailed me some spec sheets.
Interior colours are black or black and red (so no blue).

Also, looks like we've got the 8" screen only.

Question is now can red car with black/red interior?

Was looking at the fine writing on the reservation email….it states

“The all–new Z is not yet available for purchase. Expected availability for Australia is mid 2022. All images and features are based on the pre–production overseas model. Actual Australian production model may vary. Images shown are indicative only.”

That's my guess of 8" vs 9" The difference should be negligible.

Yeah it’s not a biggie, but with my ageing eyesight it would of been nice…and I still don’t get it.
Why every single other thing…just seems odd

Did you guys notice this on the bottom of the reservation page

“Deliveries will commence in August 2022, however due to high global customer demand and limited allocations, we cannot confirm your delivery date at this time. Nissan and your authorised dealer will support the pre-order process with regular communication updates.”

Is the Perth dealership still adamant that we'll see it early next year?

After all this stuff I went in to sort some stuff out…mainly to make sure my order is actually in.
Dealers says order are in…so that’s one good thing.
Secondly he said, don’t pay too much attention to dates…he’s not adamant any more, but he did say the Pajero (or something like that) was due in October. They were then told it was pushed back to March so 5 months late….it showed up just a month late, in November.
Said everything is so fluid with chip shortages etc that he thinks it’s a worst case scenario date.

I brought up the Proto again, and I have no idea what to do.
He says the dealers have still had no information on it….the state manager didn’t even know they were getting it.
And so no orders in the state have been placed for it.
My dealer is just one of two in the state permitted to sell Nismo, so he said out of all the dealerships in WA if they are coming that they should get at least a couple allocated to them .
Here is where it gets hard.
I can put in an order for a Proto, but if later I change my mind and don’t like the price, my spot for the regular model will be gone.

He is still estimating between 75-80K for normal model but he said proto could be as high as 100k…he did say it’s purely speculation, but it would make sense to price the proto around the Supra price…and that is out of my reach.

Soooo, I’m going to wait for pricing to come out, if I get a nice surprise I’ll call straight away, if not I still get the one I’ve locked in.

So if you guys hear about pricing early…let me know and I’ll do likewise

I was hoping that August 2022 was a worse case scenario, it makes sense with the chip unknowns. I've also heard cases of cars turning up many months early. ?

I see absolutely no reason why the Proto trim would cost any more than the Performance, let alone $25k more! It just has a bit of yellow splashed here and there. We should get a good indication as soon as USA pricing is official.

It’s because it’s “ limited” wheels can be changed, Seats can not…but I’m not going to pay 20k more just for seats and to say I’m driving a limited edition

I’m crossing my fingers on timing as well…not much fun driving an old i20…..might of known the first time I sold my car privately and got what I wanted would of jinxed me down the track. It’s just Murphy’s law

This is interesting too. It suggests Rosewood Metallic is standard paint and all the rest are premium at an additional cost.

Yeah…look I think it’s still speculation.
I think Nissan was Kinda forced to start taking official reservations because so many dealers were already locking them in, and then sending paperwork through…so they just put it in the system…again this is MY thinking. Don’t know if I’m right or not.

There’s lots of oddities the closer you look.
I do note there is a disclaimer that it’s based on OS models and things could change.
So basically I don’t think they know fully what’s coming. It would explain a lot, including dealers being kept in the dark.
My reasoning? US will be the first to get the car, therefore until they have all the information and release it, they won’t give anywhere else in the world details either. This includes delivery. If the US is due to get delivery in March then it would make sense we follow a few months later ….but as to exactly when, it could be purely a guess.

Time will tell, I’m hoping by Nov, early Dec we will know more.
In reality I would like
Prices
Due date
What is actually in the car Aus is getting….because to me 8inch screen whilst not a big deal dose t make sense if it comes with everything else, and if it’s not coming with everything else…then what’s been put on the list that shouldn’t be there ?‍♀

Hey guys,

I have got a Proto Z on order.

With regards to pricing of the Z I reckon it will be $70-75k for the normal version and can see a $5k premium for the Proto Z spec so $75-80k.

I doubt Nissan would go higher than this as they need to undercut the Supra by a reasonable margin to attract buyers otherwise if it is too close to pricing of the Supra people would just go with the Supra.

I think if the price of my Proto Z turns out to be much more than $80k I am out.

Now assuming everything goes to plan and I actually get the car I would be looking to do some light modifications to it.

Anyone else looking to mode their car?

I personally would be looking at the very least a new exhaust system. Other mods I would have to see what is available and what affect it will have on the warranty but something like BOV, and intake system.

Most likely a new sound system as I believe the stock system will be pretty average.

Hey everyone from Whirlpool,

Based in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia (for the minute) have a contract in place for the Proto Z with a $5,ooo deposit in place with Midland Nissan.

West Aussie, hello, whom is your order through as your situation seems quite similar to my own?

My dealer is catching up very quickly to the Z details but there's no denying that Nissan have been pretty ordinary getting details out to the front line.

Cheers lads

The Bose sound system on late models Nissans is pretty impressive. Unless you're chasing 1000W amps & 12" subs you should be pretty satisfied.

Reading the Q50/60 forums, an intake and BOV would likely upset the MAF therefore ECU tweaking would be required, which probably voids engine warranty.

I'm hoping NISMO release a full parts catalog rather than just a NISMO Z with slightly upgraded suspension, uncomfortable seats and lame stickers.
