I've emailed Ecutek about this, and they said since everyone uses the cruise control buttons to select a map, they never bothered to try and use the D-Mode switch. They also said that the switch does other things they dont want to mess with, like stiffer steering? My steering has become stiffer since I installed wider wheels and I dont feel a difference between Sport and Standard tbh. But has anyone else thought use the D-Mode switch to select maps would be better than using the cruise control buttons?

The d-mode in the automatics makes more sense to change maps than a sequence of buttons on the steering wheel. Especially to me anyway.

On my Nismo, Automatic it would be welcomed if the Maps are placed under the D-mode and not on the steering wheel.

It makes sense right? On the Nismo you have 3 modes, so why don't tuner software devs use that switch at least for auto's to let us select a map and even see it on the dash?

I just got mine tuned yesterday, and asked the tuner the same thing. He loaded two maps, and I was wondering why it was run through the cruise control instead of the sport button.

It's done that way for people that run multiples (3+ options), even though I only had two, it's still the same setup, and less effort for them. Sport mode just changes the rev-match shifting, and allows Launch control + flat shifting, so you can still switch maps without that being affected.
