What a pain in the ass to get the factory gear knob off! Took me and my buddy to hold the shifter itself with a pipe wrench so it didn’t spin and ruin the synchros and a strap wrench with rubber wrapped around the gear knob itself to get it off! Anyways super happy with the new gear knob. It’s nice and small and countersunk. The only big knob I like having in my hand is my own….lol 🤣

Does the leather boot stay up flush with the bottom of knob? I had this same knob on my 350 and had to go to Home Depot and get this little rubber spacer in the plumbing section to fill the small gap.

No problem the one I used had a bit of a cone shape to it was like a dollar and worked perfect. Before the Ti knob I had the NISMO carbon one and while it fit more flush as it was less stubby the problem I had with it was the carbon was like a sleeve that wrapped around the knob and it would vibrate and was annoying.

I have the hard black rubber version of this Nismo shift knob on my 370. I didn't go with the titanium because it would get hot if the car was parked in the Florida sun. Z1 sells a metal spacer that fills in the gap between the bottom of the knob and the leather boot.

Ugh….back in the day I had an ‘04 G35 Coupe with a Top Secret gear knob on it that would heat up in the sun

great looking knob

my first mkiv supra came with a veilside shift knob that would heat up like an infinity stone during the texas summers.
i ended up using a baseball cap to keep it covered up

Yup….did the same thing!
Even further back I had an S2000 with a GReddy Trust knob on it (very similar to the Top Secret one) and I used to keep one of my extra SPOON reservoir socks around it….lol

i got the idea of using a baseball cap to cover the shift knob from a friend who would hide his shifter at meets/shows. he got tired seeing the disappointment on peoples faces when they saw it was auto 😂
