I was at Lime Rock last week with my Z and it has the CZP Heat Exchancer, larger oil cooler, and the upgraded charged air water pump from Z1. All day oil never exceeded 232F and it was a 75F day. But towards the end of the day on the final session I was getting power cuts at full throttle on the straight. After doing some research I found out that the ECU will cut power when air intake temps exceed 120F. As soon as I got off track, I measured the intercoolers surface temp at 122F. So this leads me to believe that even with a larger heat exchanger, heat soak is still an issue. Larger intercoolers might help a little, but they too will suffer from heat soak since the water will hold that heat no matter what. Air to air is a massive investment and major job. Perhaps an interchiller might be a good option?
