I'm wanting to do a wax on the Nissan and wanted recommendations on synthetic clay towels. Or mitts. Would like to try this instead of the old school clay bar.
Who has used or recommends what?
Thanks!

I did traditional clay on mine. THEN, I got this mitt off -mazon. I feel stupid for not getting a mitt/towel! Did two work cars that had not had ANYthing done to protect them. It was like paste coming off with Adams Detail spray used as the lube.

I've used clay bars, foam pads with clay-like coating and machine polishing with a clay-like pad. I check the paint feel first and decide which to use based on how much contamination and the area size. They all work the same and the mitts are similar to the rubber clay-like coatings found on pads. The biggest disadvantage of clay bars is they can't be washed clean like the other options.

Some detailers prefer liquid clay but I don't see how it differs from polish. Clay bars come in different grades like medium vs fine and I prefer the fine for new paint like the Z.

I use a Clay Mitt if I'm only applying wax/sealant after.

& Claybar if I'm going to polish.

I can give you an Amen on that Clay mitt 2 pack. It covers more area than the putty and works just as well.

After the mitt, the clay bar feels like you are decontaminating with a q tip! PLUS, (supposedly), the clay bars are abrasive.

And (supposedly), the mitts and rags aren't abrasive.

(EDIT: adiaz above seems to have the same thinking.)
