Well, so much for my so-called 'informed' source at Zcon telling me the blue was on its way back to Japan and two new colors are on the way.?

Dear Z-car enthusiasts we are excited to announce the new 2023 Nissan Z will be at Z Car Garage on Saturday, October 23 from 10am to 4pm. This will be the first public showing of the new Z in Northern California since its 9/17 Global Reveal in New York. Join fellow Z car fans at our shop and see the new Z in person! Bring your friends, family and please spread the word.

ZCG will also have several vintage Z cars on display to celebrate the lineage. A representative from Nissan will be present to answer your questions and this is a perfect opportunity for photography of the new Z. Big thanks to Larry Chen for sharing these photos with us.

Huge thanks to Nissan for making Z Car Garage the premier venue for sharing the new Z. It really gives us some 2008 vibes when our shop was chosen to host the first stop on the “Follow The Z” Tour of the then-new 2009 Nissan 370Z:

But what if….the blue advertised is being used for the posters, but when you get to the show there’s new colours!
Now that would be awesome
I doubt it will happen, but it never hurts to dream.

I’ve noticed the forum is getting a little quite of late, Nissan needs to give us something new to keep the hype going, new colours is an easy way to do it, without giving away too much in my opinion

Was planning on heading over. I was there for the 370z, and am looking forward to seeing this version.

Went there with my son. Tried to get a few pics of areas I haven't seen in detail yet, although for people familiar with the 370Z or Q50 this might not be very interesting.

Talked with Ken, the dude from Nissan. He was very friendly but of course wasn't able to share any new information.

Looked like a decent number of people when I was there. Hopefully is stayed busy throughout the day.

Car looked great in person. Very similar IMO to how it looks in photos. Very clean, no frivolous or gratuitous vents, curves, or creases. The blue color on both the exterior and interior are beautiful. The exterior really pops.

Thanks to all who made it happen.

I also have a video of the car revving. Will upload to youtube and post a link. Not really anything new, but I recorded it so...

And here's the link:

I really hope the paint quality remains. The clearcoat looks like glass.

Thanks for the media. Does the blue look as intense as it does in your photos when viewed in person? It's certainly striking but I wonder if it might be a bit too intense to live with.

Great grill photos, can get a good idea of where the front plate (where required) will attach. No doubt off-centre in the bottom section.

Thanks for sharing!

@Trackaholic @Ziggy did y'all get a chance to see the dash/gauges up close at all? Or at least closer than a lot of us have seen? How is it in person if so?

That was the one thing I was really hoping to get an idea of when I saw it at the Auto Show but couldn't.

To answer some questions above:
I think the photo I posted represents the blue pretty well. It is intense in the sunlight, bright and vibrant. IMO it looks great and I wouldn't have a problem with it. But then, my current car is yellow with black stripes so I might not be the best judge on what is over the top.

I doubt the production paint will look so smooth though. Orange peel will likely be the same as it is on pretty much every other Nissan (and car, for that matter).

I didn't get to see the gauges up close, but front what I could see, they looked nice. They had the cluster in the more track oriented mode with the large central tach and I think some good temp info on the right side. The left side is configurable I believe. Overall the interior looks really nice IMO. Simple, clean layout, physical buttons and controls for the important stuff, decent touch screen for the rest. It has several of the same components from my 350Z so I should feel right at home.

On just this point, I was comparing the paint on the late model S series Mercedes that parks next to my much more modest vehicle with my own car's paint today and its orange peel was at least as noticeable if not more so than that on my 20 year old car, I was quite surprised. I guess it's ubiquitous these days.
