I've ran into an odd point in my life where I need better ride quality out of my RZ34. I've been searching the web but I'm not super knowledgeable about options.

My frequent passenger just had back surgery and will likely never ride in my car again unless I can figure how to manage the micro bumps caused by imperfections in the road.
A bonus would be managing the front end lift under acceleration..

I've been looking at Silvers coilovers for a while, but I'm not sure I could get away with that now.. even with adjustments.
Air suspension seems like an expensive option? Would that improve ride quality like an adaptive suspension would?
We recently sold their 5.0 for a comfy commuter.. I'd hate to sell the Z too.

I'm open to other options too.

You would probably better off with a more floaty, somewhat bigger, luxury sports car with higher ground-clearance. Not a whole lot you can do with sports cars that have low ground clearance. Can you make it better? Sure - but it's still going to ride "rougher" than a touring car.

For sure, I'm more looking for ideas to approach the challenge. I've never used air suspension...any insights on ride quality would be great!

I dont think you're going to get anything thats softer or more floaty than stock in these cars. If thats too much currently, especially where a passenger wont even ride in there, they certainly wont like an aftermarket option. Im not sure the Z is the car you're looking for in regards to riding on a cloud of comfort lol.

Short answer is no.

Answers for fun that might improve: smallest diameter wheel with the largest sidewall tire, smaller brake rotors to accommodate a smaller wheel diameter (sport trim or even aftermarket that will fit), ultra plush luxury grand touring model tires and size up the sidewall size, remove front and rear sway bars, check with suspension companies for either custom springs or full custom coilover set for your needs (higher ride height, softer springs, rally setup), I believe there is a Nismo Rally Z that I saw on Youtube if somehow you could get that suspension setup lol.

Nismo Safari Z lol

Try test driving a Sport model, like @DEUPRA said, it's all in the tires, pressures, suspension. Sport has 18" and more touring tires, taller flexible sidewalls. Reduce pressures to about 30-33 psi. Report back.

I appreciate the replies :) I recently had to replace both rear tires to Michelin's PS4S and it honestly made a difference.
I think I might just have to tell the passenger "sorry, too much $$ to make it work" and leave it as a sporty car.
That rally setup is hot tho.. I'd love to try that.
