Staying_Tuned has a nice sound deadening project listed out here
I'm very interested how yours turns out and about what your shop is charging for the labor.
DD'ing since Sept 2023 and it's my 2nd Z. Other was a 2003 Z that disintegrated tires and felt like being in a washing machine.
The new Z is much more of a daily driver to me. I hated it's so quiet stock, the noise dampening made me go nuts. I turned the ASC and ASE off (fake noise.)
My wife...
The bracket for the sensor fit great, but it looked like it was going to be crushed the first time the suspension flexed. Maybe that bit moves in concert with the part I expected to crush the sensor?
Thanks for the shot of confidence for the z1 sensor mount bracket.
I don't get the straight-cut gear noise, only the buzz at that RPM.
I thought about adding some sort of dampening but there's some pretty serious physics going on with that bolt & nut.
Maybe a rubber gromet where the washer mounts?
Title says it.. at just under 4k RPM under load I get a "zzzzzz" noise for a brief second. It's cringy.
Anyone else have this with the rear diff install? I saw a post from a while back but couldn't find it again that had mentioned something similar.
Anyone know of a fix?
Where did...
I appreciate the replies :) I recently had to replace both rear tires to Michelin's PS4S and it honestly made a difference.
I think I might just have to tell the passenger "sorry, too much $$ to make it work" and leave it as a sporty car.
That rally setup is hot tho.. I'd love to try that.
I've ran into an odd point in my life where I need better ride quality out of my RZ34. I've been searching the web but I'm not super knowledgeable about options.
My frequent passenger just had back surgery and will likely never ride in my car again unless I can figure how to manage the micro...
Following up.. The foam pads fell off after a month.
The mount jiggles when you ride down the road, but a slow smooth jiggle.
Overall I'm happy with it.. still works great.
I have a 2024 Mustang GT and drive a buddies Dark Horse on occasion.. they're not the Z by a long shot.
My take:
The Z sells the "you're driving this car.. here's some buttons.. HAVE FUN"
The 5.0 is "1st and 2nd is useful.. everything else is boring AF." Fast.. but boring. (3.55 gearing)
Dark...
Fake engine noise and noise canceling.
Good thread here.

Cost may vary, mine was $80 (1/2 hour)
I don't currently have a way to pull that data. I bought a license to tune and took it to soho.
I've been wanting an AFR and an intake charge temp reader..
I suspect some of it may be AFR, some may be throttle mapping.
My concern is I'm asking something unreasonable. Would a different...
Following up..
I went back and some adjustments to the throttle table were made. Overall the issue still exists but it's less pronounced.
Super strange tho.. the pressure builds when giving it mid-throttle and the car feels great. When it hits 3k now it's still pulling and feels fine until...
I went and got one of these, put it on the left side of the windshield. It was $18 and vibrates when driving. Overall.. it works.
Maybe I'll try a magnetic one when I change phones.
Where are folks mounting their phones in their cars? I've decided it's time I bought one.. never had one before but there's too many options.
I suspect I'll be happiest with the mount on the left side of the wheel.
I'm lightly tuned, but:
Normal driving is fine. You'll quickly find the limits with spirted driving.
2nd gear spins tires once boost hits for me around those temps.
3rd isn't bad, but I believe traction control is working overtime.
Around 20F, I let the clutch out slow in a downhill turn in...
I've found the lights to be the minimum level of acceptable. The Z does this in a couple areas.. likely to save $$.
I'd give the headlight system a thumbs down. The auto-high beams aren't reliable.. and with any sort of hills and turns you might have to hold the brights on... and I mean hold...
