Is removal the same procedure for the new Z as shown on some videos showing the removal on the 350z and 370z?

Yes, pretty much just pulls off.
Start at the top and work down.
Feels like its gonna break the clips, then bam its off.
Had mine off for dash cam install.

I lazily tucked mine between the pillar and the windshield and it's visible at the base where the pillar meets the dashboard. Eventually I will yank it off and do it properly, maybe when running the camera to the back window. I figured I would wait for some trim removal videos but this is good to know.

If you pull the door seal away from the body, you can get more leverage on it. Also, don't put anything in front of the airbags.
