I had a wheel repair shop fix a forged aluminum motorcycle rim that had a minor bend from what looked like a street reflector. While in their shop, they were paint matching wheels on a RR Cullinan that was damaged in transit. The good wheel shops are very skilled and take a lot of pride in their work.
Good on you for getting them to agree to a whole new wheel. Not totally out of line (IMO) considering that damage appears to have occurred out of negligence.
