Yeah, ND Miata is a bit long in the tooth. It's comin' up on 10 years. I know I'm in the minority, especially in this forum, but I would actually really dig a fully-electric Miata... in part because it would be an addition to the stable and not a replacement for my manual ND2.
After I had a couple of days to zip around in a Model 3 loaner last year, the idea of that kind of drivetrain inside of a much lighter weight and smaller, sportier, 2-seater form factor became much more compelling to me.
Especially if it ends up looking anything like this:
