I want to watch my oil pressure and it is my understanding that only manuals get the oil pressure on the sports dash and there is no way to change this, even if I had to pay the dealer. Wanted to absolutely confirm this before I moved to other options.
If it's not possible to change the gauge than I would want to swap the battery voltage meter for oil pressure. I know two ways of doing this.

1. Oil filter sandwich plate with a standard NPT port and the wire ran up to the gauges. I ran it this way on my q50 and it was pretty easy so I could just copy that.
2. Posi tap into the current oil pressure sensor from the front of the engine, maybe follow that wire all the way up and not have to run the wire all the way down.

Attached are pictures of what I did with the Q. It was more about function than form...On the Z I want to make it look good.

Is that for piece of mind?

If you install the oil pressure solenoid blockoff plate your pump will run at high pressure all the time. I did that along with CZP baffled oil pan.

im looking into the same deal as you, I have the 24' performance auto and don't have the psi gauge and with the solenoid potentially being stuck open I want to have the peace of mind of reading the psi. The car comes with the actual oil psi sensor just doesn't display it so I was thinking maybe I can buy a obd2 gauge and have it read the psi reading or intstall an adapter by the actual oil psi sensor. I know where the oil control solenoid is and could maybe install a sensor there but apparently if you disconnect the solenoid you'll get a CEL.
