Nothing crazy, just the first wash!

After a month+ of ownership, I figured it was time to clean it up! Will need to do some Dr. ColorChip on a few spots, but overall not too bad. Claybar needed too, eventually.

I'm with you! It's all about the particular shade and metallic/pearl flake!

I loved my Accelerate Yellow Metallic C8, but hate the new shade of yellow, whatever it's called. I pointed it out to my wife on the road today and she agreed it was gross. She was the one that actually picked the yellow back in 2020 after 2 decades of white sports cars for me (minus a black S2k).

Clay "bar"? Look in to a clay mitt or clay cloth. You don't miss a spot. Why not? You make larger, flatter passes over the surface. Clay bars are technically abrasive, and you should buff after using them.

(NOTE: I couldn't see any swirls or abrasion when I did my car with 300 or so miles on it.)

Nick and Ivan's "DIY Detail" YT channel is informative, even if it is an advertisement for their products. Their products are pretty good.

Thanks, good advice. My dad was actually telling me about a clay mitt he bought, and some iron remover spray.

That first wash is so satisfying. I’ve used Adam’s clay block and a clay mitt, both were super easy to use. With the clay mitt, I just washed the car and then filled a clean bucket with car wash soap and “washed” the car again using the clay mitt. I’ve also used a QD and/or an Iron Remover.

To me, the clay mitt or clay towel is slightly easier to use as it goes over uneven surfaces more easily.
