That happens in most industries. This thing the 'business experts' call "competition" doesn't really exist. Most companies basically match whatever price their "competitor" is able to sell a similar product for.if the Z was priced closer to what was hinted at to begin with, it would have been ok for most here. now nissan wants to charge close to what the competition is asking ...
Apple makes the iPhone, so Samsung releases their top-end phones at around the same price ... did they have to, no, both companies make massive profits from these phones sales and could easily sell them cheaper. Same at two differing supermarket chains who sell their products at virtually the same price. There's one chain here that purposely has many of their prices at 1c cheaper than the "competition" chain.
It's only when products don't sell "enough" that prices drop ... or the product is simply dropped entirely.
