I am looking to buy a Nismo Z in the coming weeks. Does anyone have a winter wheel setup they like? Also does anyone have a measurement for the distance from the stock wheel spokes to the brake caliper?

Currently looking at Enkei Raijin 19x8.5 +30 as a square setup.

Not saying they wouldn’t work, as a lot depends on the inner profile of the spoke area, but 8.5ā€ are significantly skinnier than OEM NISMO. For an 8.5+30, the front outer lip will sit almost 5/8ā€ further in on the front (vs 19x10+33) and just over 1-1/4ā€ inches the rear (vs 19x10.5+23).

Black is OEM NISMO and red is 19x8.5+30.
Front top, rear bottom.

Yeah, after playing around with it a little more on will they fit, I dont think they will fit. Are you able to measure the distance you have between the calipers and the spokes?

Updating for people coming here in the future:

Ended up getting wheels from tire rack. Did a square setup 19x8.5 +35 all around. Rear is definitely tucked in a little, but it's winter wheels, so who cares. Total came out to under 2700.

Wheels were Enkei Raijin wrapped in Michelin X-Ice tires. Would've gone with any other brand for tire if they still had them available.

Just curious...how do winter tires behave on a RWD sports car in the dry? Do they wear really fast?
Without studs or chains I don't understand how a different tread pattern would make that much of a difference in snow/ice, but we don't have to go through that here, I'll ask The Google.

Mainly a tire compound difference. Winter tires remain flexible in the cold and they do also tend to have more channels in the tread to move snow and water away. Summers on the other hand are more stiff in the cold and do not like to flex. The flex is important for maintaining maximum grip on the road.

Running winters in summer does just wear them faster

In ice, you're cooked either way without studs or chains.

Thank you for taking the time and sharing your experience. I have the same car and was contemplating investing in winter set a few months ago, considering I daily drive mine. Now, I have Michelins PSAS 4 tires. I must admit that I’m not an expert in square and offset setups, which is why I wasn’t fully convinced about it initially. Did you have to swap or get new TPMS sensors?

I have new TPMS sensors on these wheels. Makes it easier to swap each year since I just do it at home.

I have a question, so do you have the factory OEM sensors on winter set as well? Or are you using aftermarket ones? Does the device need to be paired or recalibrated every time, or does it automatically know? Tire rack had the options of getting the aftermarket ones installed when ordering. Thanks !

Aftermarket. As long as it's the correct frequency they'll automatically sync to the car. Tire rack programmed the sensors to the correct frequency.
