When I first put the 9AT muffler on my 2025 6MT Z it lined up perfectly with the rear molding without having to muck with it at all. Recently I removed it and slightly dropped the midpipe to put on a new rear sway bar, and now I can't get the muffler to line back up the same and it's driving me nuts. I put on fresh crush gaskets but otherwise all the brackets and hangers are the same.

When I dropped the midpipe I pulled it off the hangers but supported it so it only came down an inch or so, just enough to slip the rwb out, and I don't think I bent any couplings or such. I tried to loosen the muffler hanger brackets (how I removed the muffler) and hold the tips in place as I tightened, that helped a little bit, but the driver side still droops extends out slightly further than the passenger side and I can't figure out how to raise it higher.

What are some muffler tip tips get to line them up better? Or is it the world telling me to just get a single exit? 🤔

One thought, lubricate the hangars to allow them to slide around in the rubber insulators easier to prevent binding or getting pulled at an angle.

Dish soap works well for this because it's slippery when wet allowing you to get everything into place but not so once dried so it doesn't keep moving around.

Next step would be to loosen the flanges at the midpipe connection, tweak how they're seated, and retorque.
