FBO (not just a damned catback) and a tune could get this thing to 475~500whp and that'll cost ~5k, anything over that and you'll have to start spending BIG money.

Problem is, the same FBO and tune will cost ~1.5k with the B58 (BMWs are OP with how cheap it is to go faster.....that's how they lure you in lol)

locked. BUT there is a European company that can crack and clone. $3500

But to Houston's comment. You can get to 500 still pretty ridiculously easy with a couple parts and a piggy back

It'll be interesting how long that lasts.

However, it may not matter much as ECU tuners are getting scared of the EPA lately, the government has been suing tuners.

Just googled it. There are many cases. SEMA is getting into legal battle with EPA as well.

I am not a lawyer, but it seems that: these tuners should stay away from actual installation, and let owners do it (need to make it simple to install, of course). That probably can get EPA off their backs. Maybe lawyers on this forum can correct me.

I don't keep those links.

Google it, you'll see. It started with those diesel bros and recently has hit ECU tuners as well. It'll probably find it's way to JB4 products soon, too.

There's a bunch of small companies under threat, the EPA says they want ANY tune certified, it's too much to ask of these small companies to certify their product with the EPA.

I heard that the EPA is trying to eliminate the grey areas too.
